¡Buen viaje a mÃ!
¡Buen viaje a mÃ!
I'm leaving the good ol' US of A [/sarcasm] in about 15 hours to spend the semester in Barcelona! I'm so excited that I had to make my own thread!
I've got my ratty copy of EG all packed, in Saran wrap and a plastic bag so the baggage handlers don't hurt it. (Nope, not kidding.) Don't know if I'll have internet connection in my apartment there, so I may be gone for a bit! (Not that I post all the time or anything, but... ehh, all the same...)
Wish me luck!

Have a good time! Don't do anything I would do.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).

I have wireless internet! Woot!
Thanks guys! Barcelona is awesome. There is a CaixaGalicia (bank) right on the corner across from the apartment I'm staying in, and it makes me think of Jota.
<_< .... >_> .... umm .... I plead the 5th?

Some... La Pedrera (Gaudi house), the old town.... still have yet to go down las Ramblas, go to the Sagrada Familia, and go to Parc Guell. We also went up to Figueres to see the Dali museum. Oh, and I went to an Irish pub last night. My friends are working on asking around to find out where the bars are that are open til 2.

La Pedrera was annoyingly shut whilst I was there. Casa Batllo is pricey (twice the price), but worth it, I think.
Some day when you only have the price of a metro, you should visit Park Guell - it's absolutely gorgeous, and big!! Lots to see there, and not horribly touristy (says the tourist).
At Sagrada Familia, paying the 2euro to go up the lift is well worth it - you can see a LOT. But don't do it if you're scared of heights, or dislike endless spiral staircases.

Yes, you're right ... except that it's not a Cathedral, per se. It's a Basilica.
