Me too. Latin class really is a gift.I'm thankful that I'm understanding Latin.
If you ever find yourself reading a book entitled The Bible, you will find yourself reading the story of Adam and Eve, whose daring lives led them to put on clothing for the first time to escape from the snake infested garden in which they were living.

Pweb Latin club!
Ugh, Abbie, you would die in my class. There's this woman who has to be smarter than she presents. There's not explanation for how she got into the school in the first place, otherwise. Her questions in class take up so much time, and they're so pointless. Latin doesn't change because you find it hard. You just do it wrong.
And, in the spirit of this thread, today I am thankful for my ancient, brilliant Latin prof who sees a stupid question and replies: "It just is, so learn it." And then moves on. I am so grateful for Dr. Rigg.

That I have cranberry wine.
And creme de menthe cheesecake.
And a streetcar that comes a lot closer to my house than the subway does.

That I have random good self-esteem days.
That I found shirts that fit.
That I like to write about essays that I've read, despite the fact that I may procrastinate from time to time.

-i'm thankful i finally buckled and bought new headphones, so that i'm able to listen to my ipod for the first time in two months. music helps.
-i'm thankful my mom offered to splurge and over-night my little red ridinghood cape to me. without her, i'd be costume-less tomorrow night.
-i'm thankful marianna invited me over to her place tonight, and didn't get angry when i ened up falling asleep on her couch. ...and that she let me sleep for five and a half hours. which is more than i've slept in the the last week and a half combined.
-i'm thankful that dan sent me a letter via snail mail. and that not once anywhere in it did he mention the fact that i have been too depressed/busy/stressed out to mail or even write him the snail mail letter i owe him from two months ago.

you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

It's unseasonably warm (forties) and sunny.
And I took a walk.
I spontaneously acted today and burned an old note from an old friend -- well, more like old mentor. It felt good. It felt like moving on.
I'm thankful for my car, such as it is.
I'm thankful for memories of old friends that make me hopeful.

Today I'm thankful for soup broth and toast and for not feeling any sicker than I need to.

Thanksgiving and no posts in the thankful thread? What is this? I know I'm not the only cornball here!
1) I'm thankful that I had friends to spend the day with. I thought I just wanted to, well, isolate, but I'm really glad I got out.
2) I'm thankful that there are people who think I'm worthwhile in spite of my procrastination and unreliability.
3) I'm thankful that when I go to my dad with a problem that is my fault, he is just supportive and helps me figure out what to do instead of getting bogged down in how I could've prevented it.
4) I'm thankful for my family-of-origin. Truly, truly, truly thankful.
5) I'm thankful for my sense of humor.

I'm thankful that I got to see my cousin after three years. After that bitch (her mom, I mean) divorced my uncle, she's always been taking her to family things rather than letting her come with my uncle to our things.

I'm thankful that I'll see my family soon.
I'm thankful that I'll see my friends even sooner.
I'm thankful that I'm getting my car back.
I'm thankful that CHP didn't win the fight about not having guardrails in the center divide of HWY 85.
I'm thankful that I got to soak in the bathtub after a very long day of moving heavy boxes and awkward furniture.
I'm thankful that the moving process is almost over.
I'm thankful that I have people that love me so much they'd do anything for me.
I'm thankful for good books to read when I can't sit still at night.
I'm thankful that my mom let me live this long.

People are glorious surprises. Absolutely glorious.
God, I hope I never get to the point where people don't surprise me anymore.
I sometimes LOVE my job.

Into that world inverted
Where left is always right,
Where the shadows are really the body,
Where we stay awake all night,
Where the heavens are shallow as the sea is how deep,
And you love me.
