Yay!!! I'm so glad it made it there today! I was afraid it would show up tomorrow while you were out with pweb. And that wouldn't be as cool as getting it before you saw everyone!

Love you, Kelly.

P.S. I request pictures of the first thing you guys cook in it!!

Today I am thankful for Pweb.

After posting in the Things I Hate thread, I sat down on the couch to have a good cry. Then the mailman showed up and handed me a package. From you guys.

I am so touched by your generosity, and that you've kept me in your thoughts and hearts for all these years. I'm still crying, but now it's happy tears.

David and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I love you guys.

I was so excited when Steph sent a link, it's absolutely adorable! I want pictures too!

*double post* (we need more gratitude on Pweb)

Today I'm thankful that my mom is paying to fix the air conditioning in my car. I, a cheap and poor college student, would have just suffered in the heat. I know winter is approaching and this is really a silly time to repair one's air conditioning, but I'm going to be driving south a lot in the next little while and my Alaskan self would be extremely uncomfortable. Moms are the best (especially mine)!

I don't live in NYC or a suburb thereof. It's a fine enough city for those who are into that sort of place but it reminded me over and over again why (I feel) Chicago is superior.

I'm also thankful for being back in IL and having a smooth trip back, as far as timing went.

Today I'm thankful that:

I had time to catch up on chores.

I have dinner plans for this weekend so I have something to look forward to but will still have plenty of time to rest and relax.

I'm going to see my dogs, my mom and my little brother in a week!

Today I'm thankful that I'm not into cooking; that will make it a lot easier to eat today without having to work all that harder than usual.

That Atty got me up early. Thanks to that, we may actually eat at a reasonable time!

Also thankful my parents have been happy to be my own, personal Thanksgiving helpline all day.

Today I am thankful for my family, friends, and life in general. It may not be the ideal situation, but it's A LOT better then most alternatives and I have absolutely nothing serious to complain about in the end. I'm also thankful for cooking, because there is almost nothing more fun then staying up until 2:00 am making pies with the ones you love : )

Today I'm thankfull that my girls Sarah n Kylie have part time retail jobs while going to EWU. But i do worry about them working the long holiday hours and split and just wierd shifts often late or all night sometimes. I know it's good for them and thats why I encourage them to keep jobs even though they don't earn a lot I'm proud of how carefull they are with the money they earn, it makes me feel fine about the cost of school and their cars and all.

Today I am thankful that I have my mom, even if only over the phone or the computer for the most part. She drives me nuts sometimes but I'd rather that than not having her as a presence in my life at all. (Happy birthday, mom  )

We have Infant Motrin in the house. Tylenol does almost nothing, but one shot of that stuff and he's like a brand new boy.

Today I'm thankful that my last beagle pooch is still around. Poor thing got attacked (again) by a coyote Sunday night. She's ok, just scared out of her mind, and she's got some nice puncture wounds on her neck.

I'm thankful for Google.

Travelling to Canada for my brother's wedding, I didn't think about the fact that I wouldn't be able to use 3G/4G up there. The ability to download sections of Google maps to my phone over wifi before leaving the hotel was a life saver.

Today I'm thankful for my boss.

She gave me a ride from from work so I wouldn't have to walk the mile and a half in sub-zero temperatures and get frostbitten face and she's giving me some bookshelves this weekend. I think she's doing that so she can meet zero but I'll take it.

No snow at all. Unless you count the random car that drove by with snow, not ice or frost, encrusted on the back. Just really freaking cold.

Which is the case again today. I got offered a ride to work by a coworker who isn't even working today (so sweet!) but I declined, stating this is my rite of passage. What's a measly mile and a half of frozen face?

(Answer: frost bite!)

I highly recommend one of those creepy robber ski masks.

Scarves work too, but they shift a lot and are kind of pain for actual face covering.

Or wear a burqa. I imagine those prevent face frost bite rather well.

creepy robber ski masks.
Speaking of balaclavas...elf owes us a picture of his.

But yeah, I definitely want to get one, preferably a sports material so that it handles moisture better. All the scarves and even the balaclava that zero let me try out all held in the moisture of my breathing and it felt like a swamp on my face, which was almost less preferable to the freezing cold.

balaclava
I keep seeing this word and all I can think about is baklava. I never knew a ski mask had another name.

I had to Google baklava; I'd never heard of that before. But the same is true for balaclava as well. I called it a ski/terrorist/ninja mask before I learned its real name.
