I like Apple Cider.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).

You should water it down with something...like orange juice (that was good.) I can't drink alcohol straight. I don't like the taste all the much.

I don't think many people can. Luckily, they put it in drinks like champaign, rum, and tequila.

I don't know if they even sell straight alcohol :?

It's not hard to make yourself, though. My high school chemistry teacher taught our class how to make 200 proof drinks.

Stupid Firefox spell checker failed me again....

Edit: I see. Champaign is a word.

1. level, open country; plain.
2. Obsolete. a battlefield.
–adjective
3. level and open: champaign fields.

Yes, but champaign is not an alchoholic beverage, and thus used incorrectly in that sentence.

Grape juice tastes good sparkling. Especially white grape.

Oooh! I always had sparkling white grape juice for New Year's as a kid. I still prefer it to champagne (although I like that too). The concord version is just... meh.

I see lots of it on IRC--they like places where there are lots of teenagers and/or religious people. #Catholic on dalnet is a favorite target, and it's made the #Catholic ops very, very touchy about things even as minor as doctrinal dissension. They try to keep one on duty 24/7, as we do in #Anglican, but not so successfully, since there are fewer of us.

Someone's been removing the posts themselves from most places, but the one way up there is still there on this thread, complete with live link, probably because we covered it up by talking about it. Hope it disappears soon.

I don't know if they even sell straight alcohol :?
Actually, they do, or at least with as little water as is possible for practical purposes. It's called "Everclear", brand name, generically "grain alcohol". You don't want to _drink_ it straight, though: it's for mixing. Probably kill you if you tried much of it straight.

I buy it in a liquor store to dissolve the essences from home-grown herbs for various purposes, medicinal, flavoring, and perfumery.

My high school chemistry teacher taught our class how to make 200 proof drinks.
I don't doubt that your prof taught your class how to do this (hey, you gotta keep kids interested), but I'm wondering if you can classify that as a "drink!" I mean, 200 proof means 100% alcohol, which means there's no room for anything else.

Strong as death? Yes. A drink? I don't think so.

Ya, I'm arguing a technicality, but I'm at work and I'm bored!

Andorbal.
