But, then again, am I the only one who sees a correlation between the amount of episodes in an anime, and the worse it becomes?
FLCL exists specifically to buck that trend. Gainax, the people behind FLCL are the people behind EVA as well. (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as well. I think they form a trilogy.) EVA, very very notoriously ran out of budget with 3 episodes left to make and air. Stretching the budget was always a problem with them, and EVA was just the spaghetti finally hitting the fan.

FLCL's great in part because they took the budget for a 26 episode series and used it to make 6 episodes, hoping to stay within budget (they didn't), and as a result we have some of the best animation ever produced by people who don't call themselves Production I.G.

Moving on, anyone else reading Bakuman, the relatively new series from the guys who made Death Note?

FLCL is like Gainax on acid.

Is anyone planning to watch Ponyo?

Well, I finally watched Neon Genesis Evangelion, and End of Evangelion. That was amazing. I had to watch the first episode of FLCL as a bit of a pick-me-up when I realized it had left me really depressed (what a surprise), but that seemed right, too.

And now I understand where Rei got his username and his "classic mode" avatar.

I just watched Spirited Away again. That film never ceases to amaze.

That is indeed where I picked it up from.

Wakfu.

French series, but done in an anime-like style. Based on the same universe as the MMORPGs 'dofus' and 'wakfu'. It has ridiculous-looking awesome hats, and these little birds called 'tofus' that are insanely cute. Mostly typical action/adventure shounen-y stuff, but I've found it enjoyable.

Unfortunately, english versions are only via illegal means of obtainment for now, I think. But something to look out for.

Oh, this is out? Awesome. I used to watch the trailers over and over again because they were hilarious, extremely well done, and super-fluid. Although I guess those last two go hand-in-hand.

Thanks for the heads-up, zero.

"Out" to some degree. 22/26 episodes, and only fansubs for english.

Please to be providing links to trailers? I never saw any. Though I could just go look for them... or you could just link what you're referring to.

Boo, I can't find it any more. It used to be hosted on their website, and mostly consisted of the little boy (I think HE is Wakfu, but he has pants on his head, in case he isn't) making little portals, jumping through them cleverly, and introductions of the other characters.

Has anyone started watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood? I'm up to episode 41, I think it's great! I just wish the manga would come out sooner, though. I've read until volume 20, but I have to wait until the library gets numbers 21 and 22.

I have to say FMA is by far my favourite manga alongside Death Note and Rurouni Kenshin.

Yeah, I've been keeping up with the fansubs of Brotherhood. Good stuff.

I've only watched through episode 12. I'm slacking. But I do really really love Fullmetal.

I've been reading FMA, and I have to say that I find it super interesting, moreso than I expected. It's funny how I always expect the extremely popular anime/manga to be the same and follow the same formulas, but they never do.

Now if only my computer was working so I could continue reading.

I watched FMA: Brotherhood until episode 35 or 36 (last episode I saw, *spoiler* they were just kicking Sloth out of Briggs fortress*end spoiler*); sadly, as often happens to me with anime, there came a time when I had to do too many things, and so I quit watching.

Anyway, it's one of the greatest anime series' I've seen, if not the greatest. (Though it tends to be too talky)

(I think HE is Wakfu, but he has pants on his head, in case he isn't)
That's Yugo (Wakfu is more like... a substance, not a character). And yes, like I said, ridiculous hats. His is not the only one.

Also, I hear Brotherhood will be airing on Adult Swim starting soon (this sunday perhaps? I could probably look it up, but eh..) if people wanted to know.

FMA... Who reads the online scans at onemanga.com?

Brotherhood is a very good reboot of the anime. :)

I finished Time of Eve. I thought it was great and of course I want more. I wish they would make it into something more than a web series.

I just finished Planetes. Its basically about the lowest type of astronaut there is, space janitors.

Starts off kinda slow, but it has great character development and really picks up speed as it goes.

I also finished The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. I have been waiting for a non camcorder version to be subbed and just recently looked and it was well worth the wait. It makes up for the Endless Eight.

I'm working through Nodame Cantabile right now and I have Fractale in the queue.

What on earth are you talking about? Though I haven't seen it, everything I've heard about the endless eight makes it sound like a master work of art.

8 almost identical episodes in a row is no master work of art, I can assure you.

Has anyone seen Strike Witch?" It was recently put on hulu and it looks like a decent alternate history fantasy anime, but I'm not a huge fan of the whole fan service thing.

Apparently, none of the female characters wear pants. But other than that, it has received decent reviews. What should I do pweb? You are my only hope.

It's fanservice first, and awkwardly so as most of the main cast appear to be roughly 7, spectacle fights second, and only occasionally is there much plot or historical reference.

Wakfu season 2 has started (several weeks ago, actually; nobody told me!). I completely forgot how awesome this show is, somehow.

Mich, I swear, if you still haven't seen any of season 1 yet...

A little too rushed. It should have been 13 episodes.
