While in Vermont, we drove by "the birthplace of Brigham Young". Any of you LDSers know what town we were driving through?

We were at the Renaissance Festival today and as we were walking past the flower garland shop that I used to work at, I started to turn to Brian to tell him the exact same thing the he told me at that instant: ” That girl looks just like Alea!”

She was working at my old shop and out was crazy how much she looked like you. I would have hugged her, but she probably would have thought I was really weird. (I suppose she would be right.)

Erica, when you go, see if she's working! The shop is the garland shop up the hill to the right from the entrance.

It's not very generic, I don't think. And with all the thousands of people Brian sees every day, this is the first you-look-alike he's seen, so I think he would agree with me.

That article is just plain lazy writing. I mean, come on... only 7 reasons? :P

Cracked articles can't go onto a third page, can they? It probably wasn't so much laziness as a very mean editor.

In the infinite canvas of the internet, I'm pretty sure the only reason they even have a second page is to double their page views for ad revenue. If you look at some of the earliest articles, each numbered point used to have its own page.

I've never even heard of that but now I feel like I have to see it since it has two very big things going for it (80s film + Chicago).

Which reminds me, I was planning on doing a movies that feature Chicago movie club (of one), to see if I recognize any places in them.

And I keep meaning to tell you, Adam, that I have found a bizarro twin of yours in my work village. He's always out front of the train station restaurant smoking but other than that, he reminds me an awful lot of you. He probably thinks it's weird when I start staring, looking for differences.

The new Bourne movie has Chicago (briefly) and Edward Norton. Alea is apparently perpetually in my thoughts.

Hey, yes, you! I'm pretty sure it was you and Syphon both who told me to try with brown sugar and a dash of milk. (For which I love you both dearly, by the way).

I'm sitting on the couch at zero's parents, minding my own business when his mom asks if I'd like oatmeal for breakfast and zero makes a point of telling me they don't have Honey Bunches of Oats; I just roll my eyes because I certainly don't expect everywhere or even most places to have my favorite easy breakfast ever. Then I tell his mom, yes, please, I'd very much like some oatmeal (in part because they eat weird rich people food -like smoked cheese. They had smoked cheese the night before at the restaurant on a fruit and cheese platter that cost what a normal entire meal for one would cost my family on a dinner outing and were asking me if the cheese was smoked and I'm like, I don't see any cigarettes so probably not- and I don't know what else I might get offered if I don't just take the oatmeal).

And then Mrs. zero's Mom asks, "With cinnamon and raisins?"

zero says, "Uh, no, with brown sugar."

"Brown sugar? In her oatmeal? She doesn't like raisins? Alea, you don't like raisins?"

"I like raisins just fine. Cinnamon, too. But I eat my oatmeal with brown sugar."

"Oh, well, that's a treat for us."

Brown sugared oatmeal is a treat for them and not a perfectly normal way of eating your oatmeal. What the hell kind of Twilight Zone family am I almost-sort of joining?

Hee. Awesome.

These days, I'm doing granulated sugar, cinnamon, and fresh fruit, generally added before or with the oatmeal to the boiling water. Except today I added banana at the end. Surprisingly yummy. Like the bananas in banana pudding.

But brown sugar is classic and how I always ate it growing up. For a treat? How strange.
