a couple of trips to Kroger for supplies (read: burgers, brats and beer).
They sell those? You mean after all this time and emotion/energy I've been investing in this one in an attempt to woo him Urkel style, I could have skipped the "spending time with" one part and just purchased one instead?

I could make a sausage comment but I won't.

I also don't know who all will understand the joke in the first part but meh. It stays.

I don't think it's working. Maybe it's because I haven't worn my suspenders in a while. That's probably where the power lies.

In a leather shop at the Renaissance Festival, they had a whole section of amazing handmade steam punk stuff. My brain can't think clearly enough right now to describe any of it, but I did say out loud in the shop "pweb would LOVE this stuff!"

I went to a reptile show at my college's life science museum. It reminded me of Luet.

Awesome! Was it one where people were selling reptiles? Or a reptile science exhibit to display different types?

It was one of the science exhibit ones. It was more targeting towards kids, but I enjoyed it. They had a blue-tongued skink, which may be the coolest lizard ever.

I went to one of those at the Museum of Natural History in NYC with my niece and it was very cool. Yeah, blue tongued skinks are very neat. They make great pets too! The only thing that I dislike about skinks in general is their lack of a distinct neck. Somehow it weirds me out.

I also went to a reptile show once, of the type where people buy and sell reptiles and reptile supplies. That is when I found out that, by and large, reptile people are also tattoo/piercing/body morph people. I did NOT fit in with the crowd.

I sometimes put myself to sleep by naming every animal I can think of, by letter of the alphabet. Whenever I remember "Bearded Dragon" for B, I think of Nom.

Hahaha, is that something you picked up from me, or something we both came up with independently? Sometimes I vary it up and go through scientific disciplines instead.

Well, if you ever want to use the scientific name for bearded dragon, it's pogona vitticeps. :)

eta: Nevermind, I misread what you wrote. I thought you meant the scientific names of animals, but you said scientific *disciplines*. Oops.

Heee. I'd forgotten that you did this, too. No, we came up with it independently, I think. I started with going through the 32 NFL teams (not in alphabetical order), until that got too easy. Then it was the 50 states (alphabetized), until that got too simple. Then I started naming all of the countries in the world that I could, by continent. Eventually, I got bored/tired of that and one night just started naming animals.

My parents are in Chicago (on their way home from visiting us).

This obviously reminds me of Alea.

I was listening to Paul Brandt again last week, and it reminds me of Alea still.

Alea, you really need to listen to some of his songs and tell me if I'm crazy, or if you do like them.

Have you told me about him before and I just didn't listen? Any you can recommend or should I just try some stuff randomly?

(I will begrudgingly admit to liking "When You Call My Name," which I just finished. Begrudgingly because it's country music and he's Canadian :P This song sounds like something Matt Nathanson would do, but with a slight twang.)

tell me if I'm crazy, or if you do like them.

Do these have to be mutually exclusive? *grin*

I may have mentioned it ages ago. Not sure.

I really enjoy "Small Towns and Big Dreams", the CD. Off of it, "Cry if you want to", "I'm gonna fly", and possibly "Take it off" remind me the most of you. I really love "Virgil and the Holy Ghost", so you should listen to it, but that's not one that especially reminds me of you.

youtube wasn't very cooperative with me but from what I heard, I can see why you'd think of me (thank you :) ) and for country music, it really wasn't bad.

Driving brother home earlier, Limp Bizkit (Nookie) came on and reminded me of Josh.

Driving home just now from smoke-filled bar in which I volunteered (at least the people are fun), Michelle Branch's "All You Wanted" came on and it reminded me of Jeff.

The Marine I have worked with these past two weeks reminds me a lot, physically, of Satya. As in, I thought it was him the first time I met him 8 months ago. He's just...slower than Satya (but not stupid).

Judging by the picture you need a very long prime lens (at least 300mm, but judging by the depth of field probably 500 or 600, an L lens if its canon) opened up wide (in bright sunlight) set on a tripod (for the big lenses you attach the tripod to the lens, not to the camera body) and set to probably 1/2000 of a second, equipped with a shutter release cable and probably set on a burst setting that took 10-60 pictures in 1-2 seconds and the photographer then selected that one to keep/publish. you may not need the tripod and shutter release, but I initially assumed that they set up the camera and then waited for the bird to come to the flower.

That kit will run you over 10,000 probably.
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

Close the 10,000 maybe, and that if you get the lens new and what camera body. It was shot with a 300/2.8 which goes for around 3k new. Tripod should probably be used, since long fast lenses aren't to light, but that wouldn't add too much to the overall cost.

That being said the same person who took that photo also mentioned takign one of a hummingbird with a 135mm, but had to use extention tubes to get it in focus. So one could use the awesome 105mm macro to get some shots of hummingbirds, since they don't seem too shy.

I met a couple of LDS missionaries at one of my libraries today and was, of course, reminded of Steph. I sat down next to them at the computers. I struck up a conversation and asked if they needed a ride anywhere when they were done, because I know sometimes they don't have a car. They did have a car but thanked me. We chatted for awhile, including about OSC. Good times. :)

So the other day on my way to work, the slow car in front of me pulled over onto the shoulder to let me pass well before I got on their tail. It instantly reminded me of Pweb because I remember somone (though I don't remember who) said that is standard practice where they live. This is the first time it's happened to me and now I wish more people would get out my way!

Husband, playing Call of Duty, felt the need to inform me that he saw someone with a My Little Pony gamertag. And that he also saw them at WalMart. Apparently, he is now on the alert for them.

Naturally, this makes me think of Pweb. And giggle.

A friend of mine has all of his classes in CoD named after MLP ponies. It's not like anyone he plays online can see that, but I still think it's funny.
