I just want you all to know that once this movie is out I am out of here. Fft, zip, zoom, out. Why would I stick around? Yuck.

In honesty, I have almost completely separated the actual film from this place. It occurs as an interest that we all share, but we all tend to like Sherlock and Doctor Who and Buffy and such. Funny how that all changes; I mean, I rarely go to the real Ender's Game section anymore.

But there are an awful lot of good things associated with this dumb ol' thing.

Bob,

I'm going a little bit crazy but I'm pretty sure this is better than being bored. Pretty sure.

Work is keeping me very busy, even away from work, but I don't mind that so much, at least not most of the time. And I'm trying to get another bed in this place so my mom and grandma have somewhere to sleep without kicking me out of my bedroom. I'm kind of selfish that way. So...bed frame is on its way, pillows are on their way, bath rug for the guest bathroom is on its way, and mattress shopping is Wednesday. The only bummer thing -outside of spending a lot of money I don't have (at least not yet)- is that the comforter set I spent way too much time picking out and got strangely attached to after I ordered it was out of stock, and didn't say so when I ordered it, so now I have my money back but am not sure if I should wait it out -it's pretty much my idea of perfection- and hope they get more in stock ever and just not have it for my mom's visit or if I should move on and get something else.

Anywho. Off to work, I go. Later, bob.

Thank you, guys.

Everyone I know who was in Boston (working, watching the marathon, running the marathon) is safe. I am so heart-broken for those who can't say the same.

Last night I couldn't sleep, so I discovered there was a boomshine app for iphone, which I played for hours, and which helped keep me calm. So thanks again, pweb.

Dear Bob,

Can there be no more injuring and dying for a while? I cant take it.

Last night there was an explosion at a fertilizer factory 20 minutes north of my hometown. Hundreds are injured. 15 dead at last count. 15 dead in a community of about 3000 is a lot. Homes, businesses, lives destroyed.

Why was there an ammonia plant in the middle of houses, businesses, next door to a retirement home and an apartment complex?

I wish I was home so I could do something.

(My own family is OK. They felt the explosion about 40 minutes away from where it happened.)

I've been VERY lucky. The village I moved out of in February is having bad enough flooding that they're evacuating folks by boat (and I had an apartment basement...would have sucked) and the area around work is pretty massively flooded, power outages, etc. but I managed to stay dry and have thus far had no personal problems with the heavy rains.

I'm feeling bad for the folks who live along the rivers and have basements. So much damage.

Does this all feel like a Bruce Willis movie to anyone else? It all makes so much more sense as a movie than as real life.

It totally seems like a movie, especially here on the west coast where all we can see is online and televised news reports. It feels like they replaced the news with some strange crazy movie. I have to keep reminding myself that its all real and then that reminder is just kind of horrifying that all of this really happened.

Hi Bob" Was out turkey hunting yesterday up at the ranch sitting at the base of a big old red fir and worked my slate call till I konked out and as usual my snoring must attract the biggest toms cuz thats just what happens. So I wake up to this loud as hell turkey gobbling yelping and tearing up this sunny patch of forest floor too damn close to my boots. Well he must been scared off by my yawning or something since he suddenly went silent folded up his courtin feathers and ran off. At first I was happy because I did'nt really want to shoot him but could feel something was up so I backtracked up near the road just off the trail and found one lone fresh lion track about 15 ft behind where I was napping. I looked around for a couple hours and never found any other sign. Too bad I always do my best sleeping in the woods or under tractors and trucks, someday I'm bound to wake up on the other side.

Bob,

Those hateful scumbags at Westboro Baptist Church are going to be in Waco, picketing funerals and memorial services of the fallen first responders. They have the gall to say "praise God for the explosion." I am just livid.

(Wacoans and Texas are already planning silent human barrier walls at all the events, bless them, but I am so mad and wish I could be there)

I also wonder for at least the one on Baylor campus if they can't remove the protestors from campus. Its private property and they have no right to be within a certain distance of events that are occurring. They can take their free speech a half mile away...

Bob,

I love the girls that I work with. The other night one of my coworkers had a get together at her house (that turned into crashing a hippy party and then bar hopping downtown) and it just felt so easy and low key. I think it helps that one of the girls in my office is my very best friend, and the other girls would have easily fit in with our group of friends.

It kinda feels like a personal triumph, but I had a really fun time staying out with a group of people and just being silly and a little stupid. I wish situations like that didn't cause me so much anxiety, because when I find the right people, it's really fun!

Bob,

For the first time in two years of birding, I got lost while out hiking. Not lost in the middle of the woods, sort of thing. Just took a wrong turn on the trail and ended up almost 5 miles away from my car, instead of making a 3 mile circle BACK to it, as intended. It would have been close to dark if I had turned around and walked all the way back but fortunately I stumbled upon a family that was packing up after a day fishing. They offered to give me a ride back to my car. Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers! I had left the map of the park in my car, otherwise I would have stayed on the right path. I think this scared me into remembering the map in the future. Things you need when hiking alone: keys, cell phone, map.

Some people should not have pets.

I ended up staying at work very late today because we were super busy at the end of the day. I was supposed to leave at 6, but we had full rooms and 8 in the lobby. I couldn't leave my other doctor alone in that.

By 7 we had cleared a lot out so I was going to take one more room to help out then go home. I picked an "easy" room. Golden Retriever with an ear infection.

Tech comes back and says "uh no. This dog needs more than an ear swab. It reeks. And there's a lot of discharge."I think maybe its a pseudomonas ear infection. Just needs different meds and a really goodhospital cleaning.

I go in. It stinks. Bad. The whole room. I flip over the affected ear. I say "Oh my God. There's maggots." The owner says "Oh, so that's why she hasn't been sleeping at night."

Uhm. Yeah. Having your ear canal full of maggots would make it hard to sleep. And that's your first reaction?! Not "holy #### I've been such a bad dog owner my pet HAS #### MAGGOTS IN HER EAR" or any kind of remorse?!

We got all the maggots out. But, Jesus Christ.

Some people should not have pets.

Second page, Bob! For shame!

Anyway, I have good news to report! I started a new job today. One that actually uses my skills and is not in the service industry. I am working as a court hearing reporter for social security disability hearings. It's part time and I think I am going to be really good at it. So, yay!

I just got home from a new friends shop/mancave and had a good time. I don't do much of that type of thing often but this guy collects old aviation collectable stuff mainly cockpit seats of all things. So I brought along a B17 bombadiers seat (had 2) and the man near wet himself but it was fun I brought along my grandson Matt and he had a grand time seeing all the neat old stuff, we got to ride (drive) an old Indian bike with the sidecar n all, kinda cool.
