Hey Gals! (And Guys!)

Do people use the word "gal" or "gals" where you live? Unironically? I'd forgotten about that word's existence before I moved back up to North Dakota. It's much more common than anywhere else I've lived. I'm curious, are there other regions where it's in reasonably common use?

I don't think I've ever lived somewhere that it was a term used. I'm also not sure I wouldn't be entertained to hear it used, just because it would be quite novel.

I've definitely heard it, but it's not common.

I think I've only heard it used ironically.

It's definitely something my relatives say--but half of them are North Dakotans! However I can definitely imagine some people I work with saying it.

Hahaha! No, Buckshot, I'm sorry, I wasn't even thinking of you! I'd just had three people within an hour say "gal" or "gals" and it got me to thinking and that's where the poll came from!

Don't change a thing about how you talk or post. Variety, spice of life, etc!

People don't really use it around here. It'll come up every so often, but definitely not regularly.

Gals isn't really such a 'thing' in Ireland people use it when they feel like it just like saying 'chicks' or 'girls'
