Cause Breakin' Up Is Still Hard To Do

alea, went through my break up songs and tried to find the sad-but-not-overly-serious songs.

try these:

This Woman's Work - Kate Bush
Everyday - Toby Lightman
Tear in Your Hand - Tori Amos
Fair - Ben Folds Five
Friend is a Four-Letter Word - Cake
Make Yourself - Incubus
Three Small Words - Josie and the Pussycats (yes. i'm serious).
Walk Away - Kelly Clarkson
Gone - Kelly Clarkson
Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
I Hate Myself For Losing You -Kelly Clarkson (yeah, yeah, lots of Kelly Clarkson, which makes me ashamed, but the girl sings good break up tunes).
Miserable - Lit
Zip-lock - Lit
Dumb Girl - Lucy Woodward
Wishin' I Was There - Natalie Imbruglia
Who Knew - Pink
King Of Wishful Thinking - Go West
Counting the Days - Goldfinger
Piece of My Heart - Janis Joplin
Forget Everything - A New Found Glory
257 Weeks - Nine Days
Favor House Atlantic - Coheed and Cambria

...i know ani is an aquired taste... but she's really imperative for breakups. honest.

try these. some of them are about break ups (from mild to potent). some of them are just about being strong:

Both Hands
Firedoor
Buildings and Bridges
32 Flavors
Slide
Asking Too Much
Done Wrong
As Is
Gravel
Carry You Around
Heartbreak Even
Rock, Paper, Scissors
Grey
School Night
Dilate
Second Intermission
Pixie
Swim
Sunday Morning
Origami
Napoleon
Swan Dive
Independence Day
Untouchable Face
You Had Time

you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

One song I have always liked was "Watch Me," by Lori Morgan. Okay, so it's old and it's country, but I loved it as a kid before I knew what it was about, and I still do now.

I think movies have become my solitude and my escape. I watch at least one every day, more likely 2 or 3. And I sleep a lot.
I love movies, so this is okay.
But it almost feels as though my life is wasting away.

Yebra, I am not sure if you ever posted this, but did she give you any reasons about why she wanted to break up? Was it totally out of the blue?

I often wonder if my former best friend comes here and reads my posts. She was a member briefly of one of the versions of pweb but never active. But she does know that I have been around here forever. I don't know if I would want her to read them or not. But yeah, I wish I had something of hers to read. For awhile I knew her work email password and I could at least keep track of what was going on with her at work but she changed it pretty quickly. It's probably better that I have nothing to obsess over since I tend to do that. But it's not just me, right? We all tend to obsess over failed relationships, whether they be romances or close friendships that went bad?

it's definitely not just you. (but then again, we're both kind of crazy, huh?) after chad and i broke up i checked his email account until he switched to another server. when he got his cell phone i helped him set up his online account to check minutes, and for awhile i was looking at his phone calls since i knew his password (i think maybe that was the worst). i kept voicemails for years. i logged on his aim occasionally, even though i knew he never used it. i still talk to his mom and ask about him all the time.

and i'm not gonna lie, facebook is an enabler in this area. mostly with broken friendships for me though.

Today was rough. I got some more text messages, these totally different. I was in a movie, and so I got them all together afterwards.
I cried.

Out of curiousity, Nicole, do you think you could (and would you want to) block text messages from his phone on yours?

had to say something somewhere. won't write my own words about it here. so will steal someone else's.

i tell you how i feel, but you don't care
i say, tell me the truth. but you don't dare
you say love is a hell you cannot bear
and i say, gimme mine back and then go there
for all i care

That song is THE song that embodies how I feel towards him...the icky, despicable, manipulator. I could play that song over and over singing along and feeling empowered.

Poor you.

Do you like explaining that you were never pregnant and it was just an elaborate lie for no good reason, too?

Cameron, not here.

This is a no harm, no foul zone for people to mourn.

If you want to talk about how you're hurting-- do that here.

If you want to attack Nicole for hurting-- don't do that here. It seems that you have plenty of avenues to do that in that don't drag the board into it and that don't destroy other people's grieving place.

But, you did already ruin Kelly's, so why would you care about Yebra's or Alea's, right?

I'm having kind of a rough day as well. Just keep welling up with tears every time I stop for a moment and start to think. I feel a bit paralyzed in my mind. And my head hurts a lot but that's nothing new. I'm really sick of headaches.

Is it just this time of year? Is there something that makes people change as winter closes? Or is it all just an unfortunate coincidence?
Some people do get more depressed as the seasons change. That, and with less sunlight, the winter months are always dreary.

I'm not known much on the board these days, but if you know me you may know i like music in context.

Listen to "Breathe Me" by Sia.

It brought emotions out of me over the summer I hadn't felt in a long time. Ones I knew I lacked and knew I wanted.

Word.
It is not the sound of victory;
it is not the sound of defeat;
it is the sound of singing that I hear.
