Just registered, and thought I'd drop by to say hello
I've been a fan of the book since forever, and when I found this site, I knew I had to join haha. Though, I did have some difficulties registering, but everything is good now(:
And if any of you are wondering; Yes, I am named after Petra Arkanian. My father is big big big fan of the novel. Thus so, my mom also agree to name my brother, Andrew Ender. He does go by Ender(the only reason why they didn't just name him Ender is because my mom didn't want him to get picked on at school and felt that Andrew will be a stronger name than Ender when he is older.) And yes, people make the fast connection that we're named after them(:
Well thats all, have a great day, everyone(:

Re: Hello!
Welcome to pweb! You're the first person I've met actually named after the book. I hope you stick around.

Re: Hello!
Well, Craig named his baby Ender but she is certainly the oldest named after the book. Which is awesome.

Re: Hello!
Thanks guys(: I feel kind of special (okay, very special haha)
My Father is pretty much borderline obsessed with Ender's Game. He's very adamant of me taking astronomy and physics my junior and senior year. And my brother to join JROTC (an air force class, closest thing to battle school) and an advance computer class (he determined to create that digital dragon with a secret coded message. He tried with me, and it failed)
Sometimes, I wonder how my Mother can even stand him lol. (she's not much a fan of the book .____.)

Re: Hello!
When did you first read EG? I'm just trying to imagine how impatient your dad must have been, waiting for you to be old enough to appreciate it.

Re: Hello!
Welcome! That's so cool that you all are named after them! I'm with GD though, when did you first read it (or have it read to you)? I can just picture your dad (or what I imagine to be your dad) sitting in the hospital, new born in his arms, gently rocking and saying softly, "Chapter 1, 'Third'..."

Re: Hello!
Yes, I have read it. I first read EG when I was in 4th or 5th grade. But I didn't fully understand it and appreciate the book til 6th grade when I read it in my science class(: and oh trust me, he waited for a long time and even a longer time for my brother Haha.
Roostersfriend: oh I can imagine him doing something like that Haha!
