Your Space

Postby Rootersfriend » Mon Jul 15, 2013 5:44 am

Hey guys, I thought it would be cool to see little slices of what makes fellow PWEBers tick! I'm starting this thread as almost a close cousin to the "Portraits" thread. I think it'd be cool to see who you are via some pictures of things you're proud of, or that showcase your personality. Maybe that's your car, or your cube at work, or a picture you drew, or the freaking awesome bedspread you have (I don't know, I'm stretching here, I mean I don't have a cool bedspread) but you get the idea! I wanna see you via your life!

To start, here's a picture of one of my cubical walls (you can tell what I'm into haha space, Calvin and Hobbes, random sketches, my monster I made from my staple remover...Yeah I keep it classy) and also here's a few paintings I did, all spray paint (and some sharpie I guess), I wish I knew how to paint with a brush but I could never really get it, so for now I'm sticking with spray paint. Enjoy!

Those are awesome spray paint/sharpie works! Do you make stencils? Free hand? Either way, very cool.

My spaces kind of tend to have the same theme...

Cool!

I just called Sam Walsh and Lisa Kelly, and told them what a nerd you are.

That's awesome, i'm digging the monkeys haha. I also just love the whole cubby bookcase look, really like that. As for my painting, I guess in a way I make stencils. I cover the canvas with masking tape, draw on my design, cut out one "color's worth" paint, retape, cut out another color's worth, and so on until it's done. Glad you like em!

That sounds pretty complicated to me. :stoned:

I've done a slightly more traditional (read: acrylic) painting but I suck at just going with the flow, so I drew directly on the canvas and went from there. starlooker actually can do free form painting and although I've only seen two of her works, I thought they were beautiful.

It was less paranoia and more so excitment that maybe it was someone I actually knew/lived near and just never knew they were on here. Oh well! Hooray for making new friends haha

Well, I *AM* only about an hour north of DC!

I work (and live) about 10-15 minutes away from BWI airport. Actually, I work about 5 minutes away from BWI airport!
