quite honestly, i think more mothers should breast feed their children (all children. not just babies) on planes. no. not just because i like seeing boobies.

I don't think it's at all related with being shameful. Instead, it's because it's antieconomic. Think of it... they are doing FOR FREE, what they could be doing by spending a lot of money, buy buying artificial mom milk. They would be contributing to the economic growth of the country. Instead, she decided to be antipatriotic, and do the cheap thing.

FYI, "alien" referred to a penis, not a set of breasts. Hence the having to choose between them--most people don't have both.

I don't think it is so wrong saying boobies. It's just an affectionate way to call them. I mean, when you say "breasts" it really doesn't sound like a nurturing, motherly part of the body. Instead "boobies" really sounds like that.
I think that who created the word "breasts" didn't really know what he was doing.
Not that in Spanish we have better words... at least you guys have "boobies"... our two words for it, both forma and colloquial, sound pretty bad.

Ok, I don't care about the "boobies/no boobies" debate. I usually call them breasts, but whatever.

But, as a nursing mother back on topic, yes, it really does help with babies on planes. The whole landing and taking off ear pressure thing is what makes a lot of those babies cry. I'm glad I fed both my kids for longer than usually thought, for reasons like this. We used coats and stuff to cover up, but we had happier babies on airplanes.

And yes--on a serious note, nursing does help with babies. I (obviously) have never been in the situation, but I know people who have. Personally, I think a little breast is a lot less offensive than a screaming infant.
