PWEB Voter Turnout

Postby Hegemon » Tue Nov 07, 2006 5:41 pm

Us elections are today and Canadian municipal elections were either today, yesterday or sometime next week *I really have no idea*...

Anyways, did you vote? I wonder what the voter turnout on PWEB is like compared to the population as a whole.

Edit: Actually, the municipal elections might only be in Ontario. I am not sure about the rest of the country.

There aren't any elections around here, there were mayoral elections... but they were over a couple weeks ago.

I have no clue when the municipal elections were, are, or are yet to come here. However, if I were in my more familiar riding and I knew for there, I would have voted.

I voted. The buggers were out of I Voted stickers, though. Vastly disappointing...

I voted.

Though, most of my votes were more cast against people than for candidates.

I voted AGAINST: Kinky Friedman and Rick Perry.
I voted AGAINST: Chet Edwards.
etc.

Kim, there was an interesting editorial in the Times today that touched on the idea of voting against rather than for--Link.

As for myself, I just voted for the first time, and NYC still uses the levers. We don't do that stupid computer s*** (yet).

I'm crossing my fingers for a Dem win.

Funny that you're using a poll (arguably, a vote) to determine if people vote. Seems like bad science.

Well, I was able to view it by going to the site she linked, but her attempt to link the image to the forum isn't working on my browser.

... aaaand, with a brief moment of immaturity:

We took back the House, we took back the House.

(Dems now have control of the House, with 25 more seats than the Republicans.)

Has anyone heard if they've officially announced the winner of the Virginian senate race? I can't find a firm announcement, just people talking about how close it is, and how that race is going to determine everything. I feel like Ohio.

Yes, it's because she's a woman. I'm about gender inequality in all forms of government.

Actually, it's mostly because she seems every bit as much extreme as the so-called evil she's allegedly replacing.

I can honestly say that I know nothing of her or her politics. I do however, think it's great to have a female speaker of the House.

oh and she's not that bad looking for 66. ;)

I think electing a Speaker because she's a woman is just as bad as not electing one because she is.

And no, not bad looking, if you go for the crazy-eyed, frothing mouth, sweet-God-where-are-my-pills?! type.

This is true. However, the fact that she is a woman is kind of kool. Progress and all that. Again I state that I know nothing of her politics. So I have nothing else to base my opinion on other than that she is a woman. If I were from California (she is a California rep. right?) I wouldn't have voted for her unless I agreed with her politics or if she was the better of the choices.
And no, not bad looking, if you go for the crazy-eyed, frothing mouth, sweet-God-where-are-my-pills?! type.
Come now, is there really any other type of woman?

then why post? by posting, "no comment" then isn't that in fact, a comment? or were you simply just trying to drive up your post count? or do you in fact have a comment, but are afraid to actually say it?

I'm actually with Ollie--Nancy Pelosi kind of scares me, too.

Jani, Virginia hasn't been declared yet. Latest news was 49.6% Webb and 49.3% Allen, with 99.8% of precincts in.

Edit: Actually, if you want to talk about close races--in Connecticut District 2, the Dem looks to have won by 170 votes. I think they're recounting to make sure.
