(Preemptively apologizing if we already have a thread about this)
What do you like to listen to when you work out?
For me, it doesn't need to be anything fast paced, it just needs to be something that captivates my attention. Therefore, it's usually an old favorite instead of something new I'm liking. I like to mouth along to the words and I'm pretty sure everyone that looks at me thinks I'm crazy. I might sometimes sing under my breath...nobody has complained about it yet, though.
On my playlist now, feel free to make fun:
Semi Charmed Life, Third Eye Blind
No One, Alicia Keys
The World Has Turned and Left Me Here, Weezer
I'll Make a Man Out of You, Mulan Soundtrack (also my favorite song for karaoke nights)
Hand Grenade, the Movielife
Tearin' Up My Heart, Nsync
White Houses, Vanessa Carlton
Cecilia, Simon and Garfunkel
Good Morning Baltimore, Hairspray Soundtrack
The Impression That I Get, Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Smile, Lily Allen
Solo, Iyaz
Beating Heart Baby, Head Automatica
Valerie, Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse
Hold Me Tight, Across the Universe soundtrack
No Hands, Waka Flocka Flame

Re: Workout Music
I typically need to have something fast paced to keep my mind from wandering and stay focused on the task.
What genre depends on my mood. Some of these I would never listen to outside the gym.
Metal:
In Flames
Fear Factory
Trivium
Demon Hunter
FATA
Rock:
Breaking Benjamin
Chevelle
30 Seconds to Mars
Skillet
Trapt
Rap:
Chamillionaire
T.I.
Twista
Immortal Technique
Other:
MLP remixes (for srs)
Video Game electronica remixes (OC Remix)

Re: Workout Music
It depends on what kind of workout I'm doing, and partially on my mood I guess. I'll listen to something different if I am doing sprints and really need to get pumping than if I'm doing a long slow run and just need to keep going.
Here, in alphabetical order, are some of my favourite workout songs:
ABC's - K'naan
Baba O'Riley - The Who
The Belle of Belfast City - The Pogues
Blitzkrieg Bop - The Ramones
Bunny Ain't No Kind of Rider - Of Montreal
Get Back - The Beatles
Hey Bulldog - The Beatles
Hey Ya - Outkast
Labrinthian Pomp - Of Montreal
No Sissies - Hawksley Workman
She's a Rejector - Of Montreal
Spybreak - Propellerheads
Stronger - Kanye West
When the Levee Breaks - Led Zepplin

It's not "noob" to rhyme with "boob". It's "newbie" to rhyme with "boobie".

Re: Workout Music
I have to say that I've found 30 Seconds to Mars to be the best overall band to listen to while working out. I guess they tend to have the right BPM?
But "I'll Make a Man Out of You" is my favorite posted here so far.
My best workout experience was made while listening to the this weird super-mega-ultra mix of most of the songs from Grease. I don't want to use all of its power, so I don't listen to it while working out that often.

Re: Workout Music
Hm. I lost my workout playlist when my previous Mp3 player broke, and never replaced it. I really should. But let's see.
"Eye of the Tiger" and "Gonny Fly Now" from the Rocky Soundtrack. (I like "Gonna Fly Now" at the beginning of any task I need motivation for. Cuz, come one. Who can listen to the first few measures of that and not feel like they are about to be awesome?)
"What I Got" -- Sublime
"Boom Boom Pow," "I Gotta Feeling," "Let's Get It Started," and "Pump It" -- Black Eyed Peas ("Let's Get It Started" is my alternative favorite first song.)
"The Distance" -- Cake
"Fighter" -- Christina Aguilera
"Feels Like Christmas" -- Cyndi Lauper (song has TONS of good memories attached to it for me, so I get a shot of motivation/endorphins whenever I hear it.)
Kelly suggested this when I asked for workout music suggestions in the Currently Playing thread (actually, I have a few from there) -- "Twenty-Five Miles" by Edwin Starr. Freaking perfect workout song.
Um... this is totally on my list of shame. But, yeah. "Fergalicious" -- by Fergie. I love the damn song, I can't help it, and it has a good beat, okay?
"Go Your Own Way" -- Fleetwood Mac
"Low" -- Flo Rida
"Now That You Got It" -- Gwen Stefani -- another Kelly suggestion
"Daft Punk Is Playing At My House" -- LCD Soundsystem
"Holding Out for a Hero" -- Footloose Soundtrack
And that's all I remember/see in my music library during a really quick scroll through.

Re: Workout Music
"Holding Out For a Hero" is one of the best work out songs ever.
"I'll Make a Man Out of You" is also spectacular.
My personal favorite, however, is "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk."

I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

I'll Make a Man Out of You, Mulan Soundtrack
AMAZING.
Also, SO STUCK IN MY HEAD NOW.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Re: Workout Music
That's my theme song!! My friends even snuck it into my reception playlist!
Yay, I'm a llama again!
Re: Workout Music
I listen to podcasts when I'm lifting.
when I'm running I also sometimes listen to podcasts, but generally need music for my last ten minutes.
If I'm listening to all music my favorite is Foo Fighters Echoes Silence Patience and Grace and Eminem Recovery
Hilariously, people in the office were just watching the Mulan song (and some Aladdin songs) on youtube as I was typing the above.
