Which forum theme/style are you using?

Postby Wil » Wed Sep 21, 2011 8:00 am

If you go here: http://www.philoticweb.net/forum/ucp.php?i=174 , under "My Board Style", you can select a different theme for the forum. Click Submit, and it will appear after the next page. My question is, which one is everyone using/which one does everyone like the most?

Also, if people have time, look through here: http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/ , and in the top right there is a dropdown. Select a theme or press previous/next. Please provide one or a few of your favorites.

Thanks!

Lucid Lime is the bestest of all the themes.

I picked subsilver because I didn't much care for how "shiny" the others were.

I use the ficubise2 one because it was what was default, and I didn't really care about looking through more. This one seemed the most like "old P-Web, but updated."

Also, like I said before, the Lucid Lime one (despite having a wicked awesome name) makes me want to claw my eyes out. :stoned:

This, it's just too hard on my eyes. I feel like i'm straining to read the white on black.

I stayed default. I looked though all of them, this one seemed the cleanest.

Ditto.

Edited to add: I will grant you, I have not tried all the other options, and I think I've used subsilver on other boards. But I believe there were only 3 options yesterday when I decided to stick with the default.

I stuck with the default. (I did try them all out.)

Using the default - I's like the old one, but prettier!

I've been bouncing between all of them, but Lucid Lime seems to be the one that's sticking the most, so that's what I voted for.

It's the one I'm using more often than the others. I've switched styles every few hours for the past few days to test them all out, and I find that the Lucid Lime one holds my interest longest.

I absolutely  that this (Lucid Lime) theme has a button for "First unread post" on threads that brings you right to the first post you haven't read.

I find it interesting that so many people find the light on dark text hard to read while I, and a few others, find it harder to read (and slightly annoying that most of the web is that way these days). Is it just because we grew used to it way back in the day when it would have been impossible to spend much time reading black text on a light background at low resolutions and low refresh rates? Maybe we're just better than ya'll. :D

There were a few, I think, that looked like Pweb 3.0 but uglier. I stuck with fisubice2 but really dig on the fact that there are options.

I use whatever the default is, which is pretty much what I use everywhere. I prefer to customize what a site looks like using browser-side options, so this is what pweb actually looks like to me (which is pretty much the same as it's looked for me for probably since before 3.0).

(And yeah, I'm bumping some not-old-but-not-exactly-recent posts... still working my way through a backlog)
