The Extra-Elitist, Super-Snobby Lounge for Ye Olde Pwebbers

Postby Noodle » Fri Sep 16, 2011 8:21 pm

Post counts are for suckers. It's all about longevity up in here. If you remember, remember the third of November (2001) because it meant that PWeb 2.0 was born, or you remember when he was called Volfield then this is the place for you.

Only oldbies are allowed here. Sit back, have a true "Lime-Aide Classic: Original Recipe" and reminisce.

Ah. I don't recall seeing any actual join dates on that date and I don't think it was a time zone issue. Cool. 8)

I remember it because it was my wife (Then fiance)'s birthday. I remember PWeb coming back that day, but I missed it because I was out celebrating her birthday. :)

Sorry, all you'll get is me for now.
you remember when he was called Volfield
Well, some of us never stopped calling him that. Limes he may give, but he will always be Vol to me. Did we ever get an explanation for the Volfield name, by the way? I never really thought about what it could mean.

(Googling it brings up someone with the XBL name "Volfield Zero" which seems like such an odd coincidence... he wasn't from Portugal was he?)

I think I joined in March 2001. I'm fairly sure that Alea found the actual date at some point. I don't think I'll ever make 1000+ posts on this forum, but I'm sure I had more than that on Pweb 2.0. I have a bad memory for that sort of thing though.

And Noodle, I just want to officially say that this thread title made me smile. :)

Portugal? no. He was from MN, and I believe he told me that Volfield was some fairly obscure Anime reference.

Ela, I'm glad you like our little lounge over here. They don't want us in their lounge, well we can create our own. :)

Heh. You're reading way too much into my Google images find. If I had the skills to make this avatar I probably would have made the center a reference to William shatner to complete the CA reference.I assume the middle is no more than the seeds or something....

I remember Volfield.

I remember Shatner, legend of the Calvinball field.

I remember zeroguy, the sandwich boy.

I remember Jane of the Canadian Alliance (Jane211?).

I remember Rahl before he was a mod.

I remember KennEnder.

I remember Otaku and his crowbar.

I remember Ela's kids, Miro and JaneX.

That's all I got for now.

Luet,

You are hurting my head with the Shlomo/Miro thing. I am second guessing myself.

YV,

I was going to make that one of my points, but then second guessed what it actually was. But since you brought it up, was it some form of ValentineWiggin? (I am thinking Valentine_Wiggin). And by the time you joined Pweb 2.0, that name was taken so you opted for the younger variety.

Correct! It was "Valentine Wiggin." My computer died right after the board crashed the first time and it took me a few months to reregister as a result. Nicole had taken "ValentineWiggin" and rather than quibble over it (or questionably reregister my original with-the-space username, which would only have caused major confusion, given how active Nicole was at the time) I opted for Young Val. And so I remain.

I believe I was part of the Red Fox alliance, but it pains me that I'm no longer 100% certain, and that I can't remember who else was on it with me.

Drats. Valentine Wiggin was my initial guess but changed it to an underscore because for some reason I thought the first board frowned upon spaces in the user name.

Speaking of some Ye Olde retro-ness, check out my stars!

You got it right, Luet. My kids are Shlomo and JaneX.

Miro was someone else - and actually Miro was a she. :)
She was at Endercon with her dad, and the two of them had breakfast with us and a host of others the last morning we were there. I know you were there, Luet, cause I just checked JaneX's photo album, but I can't find a pic of Miro, only one of her dad.
