Now that we've answered about pulp...
Now that we've throughly discussed how pulpy we like our orange juice, I'm curious how people like their bananas.
I had four friends who were roommates who had to really work out their "banana scale" so that the one who liked greenish ones didn't get to eat them all.
...and now that I've written this poll, It might be considered a bit dirty. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Um, where is the option that says "Bananas are vile and I will never, ever eat them," because that is the option I would choose!
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I chose completely yellow. I will still eat it if there are tiny bits of brown in the peel but not bruises. I hate opening it and finding mush spots. I honestly had no idea that there were people out there who ate green bananas. If they are the slightest bit unripe, they make my mouth feel all weird.

I chose little spots. I can't stand to eat them when they have a green left of them, they taste horrible.
Although, my favorite to eat them in in banana bread with some butter : )

Yellow with spots. I'm very picky about bananas. There's only a short time period where they're just right. Outside of that they're varying levels of gross.

This. Someday I will learn to make banana bread, and the mushy ones won't go to waste. And, when I eat them sliced up on cereal, it doesn't matter so much, as long as they aren't terribly mushy.I'm very picky about bananas. There's only a short time period where they're just right. Really, the perfectly yellow banana is, like, the Holy Grail of bananas. I'll eat them slightly green or with a few spots, but perfectly yellow is ideal.
(Also, right now? The poll results look TOTALLY phallic. With, like, um, balls.)

Teeheehee. I'd pretend I designed it that way, but that would just be too perfect.
I have an AMAZING recipe for banana bread if anyone wants it. As soon as bananas in my house go slightly brown, they go into the freezer to get saved for banana bread.

I've never frozen bananas for banana bread. Does it turn out the same? And is it better to peel them before freezing? It seems like they'd be really hard to unpeel.
And I have to say I prefer completely yellow bananas, though those so rarely exist in my life that I eat on both sides of the spectrum.

Who knows? I may actually try to cook it someday.
Actually, I do kind of like baking. And cooking. I just have massive amounts of hate for our kitchen.

Yes. I find it works best if I take the peels off before I freeze them. I've considered mushing them up first, too. They don't keep forever, obviously, but they keep for a while.I've never frozen bananas for banana bread. Does it turn out the same? And is it better to peel them before freezing? I put them in the freezer, peel and all. Then when it comes time to use them, run them under hot water for a while, snip the end off and squeeze out the mush. It's fun.Yes. I rarely buy bananas because I'm so picky about eating them but when I do, I eat them all within a day or two as well. (And hi!)Oh, and regarding bananas - I buy three at a time and usually end up eating all three in 24 hours when they are at the perfectly light speckled phase.

Oh, like you don't see it!
In a thread about bananas! It's funny! Because, you know, penises and double entendres are funny.
Wanders off muttering, "Tonight, the safeword is 'banana.'"* Teeheehee.
*My husband somewhere actually owns a set of Lois & Peter action figures in bondage gear.
And for those who don't get the reference, it's from Family Guy.

I hate that they go from green to brown entirely too fast. There's always at least one I end up throwing away because it went bad before I could eat it. Does that count?Am I really the only one who HATES bananas? I find this hard to believe. Lurkers, come out and validate me!
In the poll I answered yellow and that's my preference, but I'll eat them anywhere from mostly green to brown spots.

And speaking of freezing bananas, it's yummy to eat frozen bananas - almost like a frozen dessert.

Noodle, it's just to remind you I'm human, we all have flaws, etc. I don't want my radiance to blind you, so every now and then I inject a little dull, disappointing reality into things. It's ok. You don't have to thank me.

...people eat completely green bananas? I thought they were indigestible; like, you got sick if you eat them.
Yellow for me, but I generally try to eat at least around 5 a week (only buying once a week), so I generally end up eating some slightly brownish ones.
People sometimes find it odd how I peel them. It's been described like I'm wringing the neck of the banana (twisting it is an easy way to get it open!).
Also, for me, bananas are now forever associated with ponies, because of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4f9m4OYkCY (warning: loud volume, my little pony-related, and NSFW for language)
