It's official! November 10th is the date for the Season 3 premier!

We'll be doing something fun with BronyState soon (if you've never been, they do weekly streams every Friday evening of a pair of movies, an A movie and a B movie, as well as a pair of pony eps), and we'll likely be doing a charity campaign in conjunction with some other sites. I'll post more about them as things progress.

A magical empire has suddenly appeared in the arctic north of Equestria, and Princess Celestia needs Twilight Sparkle and her friends to find a way to protect it. While her friends try to keep the Crystal Ponies occupied at the Crystal Faire, Twilight Sparkle searches for the hidden Crystal Heart that is the key to keeping their empire safe from harm

I have to say that Princess Celestia should start thinking about checking every now and then on the unspeakable evils she has banished over time ...

This villain was disappointing in a lot of ways; he didn't seem like a full-fledged character, more like a caricature.

Indeed, he didn't look like a complete character, more like a nebulous (lol) thing. I guess it's difficult to depict totalitarian evil in MLP? But the 4 big bads so far have been sliding towards that...
Of course, knowing it's impossible to top Discord, they don't even try... which is a bit sad...

The other point that puzzled me a little is that Twilight telling Spike that he should go ahead and carry the macguffin would even be an issue. By now her character is well enough stablished as to know that she wouldn't endanger the Crystal ponies just for her personal glory.
Fun, nevertheless

We'll be rewatching the episode (and watching for the first time, if people didn't get a chance to see it initially) tonight and chatting about it Synchtube.

This has gotten a tiny bit out of hand... except that Ginny is getting three more (The Cutie Mark Crusaders!!) from Santa.

So, how have you thought the season has been so far?

After a season premiere that was a bit less good than i expected*, the rest of the episodes managed to keep the usual upbeat tone. I think i liked them all as much as previous seasons. Maybe except One Bad Apple, because it's an issue i feel strongly about, but at least they managed not to make it into an "social issue advisory" episode, haha.
I disagree with the second episode title. There's no such thing as too many pinkies XD they just need to increase their tolerance level.

*Mostly because of a lackluster villain. Seeing Celestia (and Twi) wielding shadow magic was cool enough though... is that a lampshade of something? And what is Luna constantly lampshading about Twilight?

Also, I was extremely disappointed by the Discord episode. I knew he would turn but kept hoping he'd hold out. *sigh*

Sleepless in Ponyville and Wonderbolts Academy are, in my mind, the strongest episodes this season. Not that I haven't enjoyed the other episodes but they're definitely not the show's strongest.

I share the concern, but it doesn't come as much of a surprise... They have lampshaded something of this magnitude at the start of the season.

I'm betting on the possibility that it's a one-shot thing, or something linked to the use of the Element of Harmony.
