it hasn't turned on in my pocket either.
I never did like that butt-dialing commercial from a while back. Every phone I know of smart or otherwise has a lock feature to prevent that sort of thing if you can be bothered to use it.

An example of why I like having my smartphone (HTC Incredible):

I was with my 20 yr old friend, who knows little to no pop culture from before the year 2005. The name Richard Dreyfuss came up and she had never heard of him. I pulled up his picture on my phone and she still did not recognize him. I said he was in the movie "What About Bob?", which she had never seen (!). And then I could not remember after trying really hard, who was the costar of the movie (darn Topamax!). So, I was able to look up on imdb with my phone and find Bill Murray, who she had also never heard of but did recognize upon seeing. Anyway, when it feels like half of your synapses have been disconnected, it really helps to have the internet at your fingertips at all times.

Alright, well, that's understandable I guess. I know a lot of people who don't recognize his name, but know the movies.
..."What About Bob?", which she had never seen (!)...
Well, I guess that's kind of understandable. I've known people who don't know this classic, awesome movie.
...Bill Murray, who she had also never heard of but did recognize upon seeing...
Well, at least she recognized his face. Bill Murray? COME ON!

Richard Dreyfuss was the mystic man in Tinman, right?

I don't understand doing it on purpose -spray, beds, creams- but I'm not opposed to it happening period, given I have gotten quite the tan just from yard work and bike riding (and that it's an uber-farmer's tan makes me laugh when I undress).

Yeah, that's what I mean, the deliberate and artificial (over) tanning. There's nothing wrong with getting a tan as an unavoidable result of outdoor activities. That's the way it's supposed to happen.

They saw a Hispanic (who tans well, the lighter ones don't) and realized brown is beautiful. ;)

I always joke with my brother, about all these crazy white people wanting to be darker but not actually dark (ie. black, brown, or hispanic).

ETA
On the flip side, there are plenty of black people who try to make their complexions lighter. Go into any Caribbean/West Indian store that sells cosmetics and I guarantee you'll find skin lightening soaps and lotions.

Yes, that really is it in a lot of cases but it's silly. I think pale/light skin is beautiful, too, for those who were born into that.

For the record, I like my skin the way it is, even if it is occasionally transparent.

One of my oldest friends and college roommate is see-through. It's great; whenever I see her, I play with her arm. I'll press my fingertips into her and then watch it turn from super-white, to pinkish, to see-through again or I'll take out a credit card type card and swipe it on her arm to see the same color change. Or is it pinkish, to super-white to see-through? It's been a while since I've seen her, so I can't remember the specifics.

She sings about how people often want what they don't have, no matter what they originally have...

It's this. My arms have gotten tanner and frecklier than usual this summer due to all the birdwatching. I've tried to remember sunblock on my face as often as possible. I'm rockin' awesome birkie tan lines on my feet tho!

Ah. I didn't have the patience to listen to the whole song, then I wondered if she herself was supposed to be the argument because she's sort of tanned.

This. A thousand times over. The time-of-my-great-decision-making is approaching way too fast.

CLOTH DIAPER LANGUAGE. ARRRRRGGGGHHHH!

I'm starting to get my brain around it, but it's making me miss the simplicity of learning Russian in college.

All of this is moot, however, in the event that we don't move or get a washer/dryer. I cannot see myself managing this without having the ability to do laundry whenever I damn well please. Still, though, I'm moving towards the cloth-diaper bandwagon. But then when I try to actually learn about it, I'm all like, "What the f***?" And the websites are all like, "Well, Belzorka diapers are kind of like Furkinast diapers, except without the Zigflots. Got that?" And I'm like, "Uh-huh."

Dude. I have a f****** Ph.D. It cannot really be this complicated.

Hehehe. No, those are not actual types. If I had written it in real language, it would have said something about pockets, pre-folds, fitteds, AIOs, soakers, doublers, covers, wool, and PUL.

Sorry guys. I'll try to lay it down in terms that are a little less tech for you.

Ami gave us a password that allows us new access to the site. With this password we can do lots of things including possibly upgrading the forum software. Before we make any changes though we're trying to do a backup. It's a good idea to have a backup anyways just because. There have been some problems running the backup because of the size of the database, so we have been trying other ways of running the backup.

Even with the passwords that we have from Ami, we can't control every last aspect of the server. The rest of the discussion revolves around the fact that the site is still hosted on servers that Ami's company controls and we would like the ability to have complete and unrestricted access to the server that our forum runs on. We can do this by either gaining control of the current server (unlikely since Ami has other sites related to her business on them) or moving the site to a server that we control.

We don't have enough information to move the site to a new server that we control, so we're trying to decide if we ask Ami for this info, or how we proceed.

That's a rough breakdown of where we are. Hopefully it makes things a little clearer. If not let me know and I'll try to break it down even more. :)

All these songs about Mick Jagger. You don't have "moves like Jagger" if you mean you dance well. He dances like he has tardiive dyskinesia. And instead of "kicking them to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger", you should probably do that IF they look like him. Holy hell, do a google search of the man before you write a song about him.

I love all those lawsuit commercials that warn about tardive dyskinesia.

You can maybe, possibly argue that younger Jagger had a fluid, almost feline movement (drawing that from memory, though, so I could be wrong) but so very agreed on the curb-kicking sentiment. Even when he was younger, though I wouldn't say he was entirely unnattractive, he wouldn't fall into my definition of attractive.

The point of tea.

My throat is experiencing some technical difficulties and has been for the better part of the past 1.5 weeks (some tightening), so I made the only appealing sounding stuff in the lounge to try to soothe it with heat; even that tasted like awful, dirty, storm drain water.

It's probably how you made it and what kind of tea it was. Tea sucks if it's not made properly (much like coffee).
