Well, that was inconclusive. Doc checked for hemorrhoids and surface tears, but found nothing so we're pretty sure the bleeding is internal. Now I'm just waiting for the GI specialist to call me to set up a colonoscopy appointment...

Oh, Josh. *hugs* I hope it's nothing serious and easily treatable, once they figure it out. Quit physically falling apart on us!

My mom thinks it might be dietary. So hopefully this will get me to cook more often and eat a more balanced diet instead of eating so much quick and easy processed crap.

Eh, it's really the best day for me to avoid missing work, though I told my boss I might call in Tuesday depending on how I'm feeling afterwards.

Ah...Josh.

Welcome to the grown-up world!

I can fondly remember MY first anal probe....I blame the 6 handfuls of wasabi peas I ate just before taking the scratch-n-sniff test for skewing the test results from "eh..." to "PROBE ME NOW!"

:gasp:

I have to say, though...the gastroenterologist made one near-fatal mistake. He let me choose my own background music for the procedure. I had (it's probably still around here somewhere) a CD of "Music for the End of Time"--basically, all the most bombastic music the producers could find, supposedly a perfect fit for the end of the last millennium.

I chose Holst, The Planets Suite: Mars, the Bringer of War.

Even better:

By the time he was done, and pulling the camera out, we were on to Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries"

NB: If you ARE going to make jokes to the doctor, remember, he's heard most of them before. Jokes like:

1) If you see any watermelon plants growing, please let me know so I can apologize to my parents for not believing them.
2) This reminds me of the time I got hazed by TKE, back in college.
3) Can you please stop humming the theme from the Andy Griffith Show?!
4) Now I know why Susan never wanted to go out on another date with me!

Etcetera.

Well, that was actually rather pleasant. They knocked me out during the procedure so all I remember is being asked to roll over on my side while one of the nurses fiddled with the IV and seemingly a minute later I was waking up in a different room. Doc found a couple of internal hemorrhoids, but otherwise I'm clean. They gave me a list of fiber rich foods I should try to incorporate into my diet.

So glad that was all there was to it! Both the anal probe and the medical problems! :D
