I know, that's what I said! But I have to be so careful. If I take the whole 500mg pill, I have severe diarrhea for 2 whole days.

Oh, I occasionally drink undiluted apple juice. I always cut it with water by about half because of all the sugar unless I need to poo. But the sugar pulls more water into the bowel, so it does work pretty well.

After my husbands graduation we went to Ruby Falls a beautiful water fall deep in a cave. It was a lot of fun if not a little over done (dramatic music and lighting) Before we walked around the base of the falls the guide warned us to not drink the water because it had such a high magnesium content that you "wont make it out of the cave and will be the new caboose to our tour group!" Thankfully no one in our group tried because something tells me hiking out of a cave with poop filled pants just wasn't high on anyones lists of things to do.

In all my years of pooping, my body has never put me through anything like it did tonight. Holy s***. I am, like, worn out and also grossed out.

Ish.

Apparently Grippos make me gassy. I got a box at the grocery store after work last night and ate a bit more than I probably should have. Now I've been passing gas all day.

This seems like the right place to wonder rhetorically just how much gas and poop a tiny little body can hold. I was warned that preemies tend to be gassy, but man...

Although the relaxed look on her face afterwards is hilarious.

Confession: I find the smell of breastfed baby poop kind of mellow. After so many years and so many diapers, the shift is so much better that it's almost - ALMOST - pleasant by comparison.

I felt it pertinent to bump this thread to point out that I pooped in she-who-must-not-be-named's toilet. Since I met her as well as she-who-must-not-be-named's-boy, it was in fact a Real Poop®.

Star Wars cake with fluorescently colored frosting lightsabers leads to a quite remarkable experience, of the sort which belongs in this topic. I've only seen such a thing once, but it cannot be unseen. Sort of this color.

One of my greatest fears is one day finding it too hard to poop and needing a laxative.

I dunno, seemed appropriate to mention that in this thread. :|

I can't for the life of me remember what comic it was, but I laughed my butt off at:
"Every time I eat beets, I write "BEETS" on my upper thigh. Then later when I'm sitting on the toilet, I don't panic."

I should do that for seaweed salad. I've had some weird experiences with incomplete digestion on that front.

I find it amusing that I can tell if Nom's actually ingested any of the food we're giving her. I have a strange sense of humour.

Prep starts tomorrow for a colonoscopy on Friday. I've already been taking a double dose of Miralax for a few days and I've gone a half dozen times so far today. The next 36 hours will be most unpleasant.

Anne (2 years, 4 months) is successfully Naked Potty Trained. IE, if we let her run bottomless around the house, she'll make sure to stop in on the potty when she needs to pee and poo.

Following each successful pee or poo, she proudly proclaims her victory, asks for candy, and then invites us all to join in on The Potty Dance. Which, of course, we do.

I probably don't want to know the answer to this, but what does one do about accidents that occur while Naked Potty training? Because...ew.

She actually hasn't had any #2 accidents. We sent her through a bit of potty boot camp, (wearing panties). where we took a couple days where we took turns literally watching her every second she was awake, and when she began to look like she was starting to fidgit, or leak, or otherwise, we rushed her to the potty. She had the goal to keep her panties dry. She began really not liking the idea of wearing wet things, and caught on really quick.

We've had some misses with #1, but that's really not that tough to clean up.

Now, it's just a timing issue, which is why we'll do some pull-ups transition to get used to planning for the time to pull pants down and STILL make it in the potty before the full on move to panties.

In the morning, we'll often find that she wakes up unhappy with a messy diaper, and will have removed it herself, and set it aside, waiting for us to get her and it.

People tell you horror stories about introducing babies to solid foods, and how much worse that makes things. But I disagree! It's been WAY easier to contain and dispose of, especially in the cloth diapers, since Nom-nom's gotten well onto solids. Maybe it's a result of the baby-led weaning instead of using purees? I don't know, but I'm not complaining.

So, they told me there might be some minor bleeding following the colonoscopy since they removed polyps. I didn't have any until today, which is way later than it should have been. When there was SO much bright red blood, I thought I had gotten my period (I hadn't). I called the doctor and they said if it happens again that I have to go to the ER. A hospital visit costs so much money!
