That sounds fine to me. I'm too tired right now to remember if you or wil asked about it before and I never responded? I've been gone a lot while trying to fit in lots of end of summer activities.

Since I'm so tired, I'll have to listen to this tomorrow. I'm excited to hear Nomi!! It's been way too long since I've talked to you on the phone, so I'm excited to hear your voice again!

I'm famous!! Shout-out received. Not to mention I got a little nudge from the interviewee herself. I listened to it in segments while I was getting ready this morning.

I think I was pronouncing Luet as Lyoo-et (not Lu-yet). Hmmm.

Wow, this was a shocker to wake up to. I haven't listened yet...really nervous. But anyway, yes, Lyoo-et is an acceptable alternative pronunciation. In the Homecoming books, the guide explains that the 'y' sound can precede either syllable. I just choose to say it Loo-yet and have for years.

I pronounce "Nomi" as "NOMNOMNOMNOM"-y. And I'm sticking with it.

Just so you know.

Finally listened to Naomi's wonderful voice!
I am shocked at the pronunciation of Luet. That is a username I thought was so very simple. Next people will be telling me that I've been pronouncing Starlooker wrong. (it's actually Starl- OOOker).

... and I am completely drunk after listening to the outtakes.

Spotlight On - Session Seven-Should-Have-Been-Six - Adam - August 22, 2011

If you have problems with the link, an alternative.

Interesting factoids:

Session Seven-Should-Have-Been-Six Call Time: ~62:03 minutes
Final Cut: ~32 minutes

With other interviews, that first, bigger number was like 30 minutes tops of interview and 20-30 minutes of rambling and bantering. This was nearly entirely interview. Wil had a heck of a time deciding what to cut and we both thought we might go with a multi-parter, but I think this worked out better.

This was my latest recorded interview, with a start time of 10PMish. I turned around less than 2 days later and did my earliest with Nomi, with a start time of 7:40AMish.

Jan, I knew it! Only a lush would look for any reason to drink. :P

I thought it was probably mispronounced by most members. Even if people have read the Homecoming series, they might not have read the pronunciation guide. And thanks for listening!

Great interview, Adam. I'm sad it was cut so short. :(

Thought:

Leto may have seemed scary on the board, but I used to chat with him all the time and he was super awesome and not scary at all.

I was also surprised when Dave converted. I totally thought he was pulling my leg and about dropped the phone when I figured out he was serious. I was in a stunned state the rest of the day.

Renee needs to join pweb. Just sayin'.

Spotlight On - Session Eight - Josh - August 29, 2011

If you have problems with the link, an alternative.

Interesting Factoids:

Session Eight Call Time: ~61 minutes
Final Cut: ~22 minutes

We weren't sure if there would be enough interview because Josh and I were like Charlie Sheen levels of coherent and focused. So if you hear references to things that aren't in the interview, it's because Wil had to edit those parts out because we were going on tangents.

The sound quality sounds kind of crappy to me. I'm assuming bad phone reception.

I'm at work and can't listen to it yet, but I'm actually quite surprised there was that much interview hidden in the banter. I can only assume 15 of those 22 minutes are spent on the outtakes section.

ha! I was screening the final version to make sure it was okay when this was posted.

Spotlight On - Session Nine- Chris - September 5/12, 2011

If you have problems with the link, an alternative.

Interesting Factoids:

Session Nine Call Time: ~48 minutes
Final Cut: ~22 minutes

Wil is human, as evidenced by his getting sick last week. Hello, first missed week.

Chris is impossible to get a hold of sometimes and that was why I said we might miss a week, not because I looked ahead in time and saw that Wil would get sick.

Please don't ask what I said in the outtakes about people not being scary or something or other. I have no idea what I said, even listening to it.

We are trying for a Wednesday release for what was supposed to be posted today.

I was going to give this a quick listen to find and correct any lies I may have told, but I've decided it's too embarrassing to listen to in front of my girlfriend.

Correction 1: There are a lot of threads I don't read. I was just too lazy to open the board and look while I was on the phone.

Correction 2: There is no snow here right now.

Correction 3: The dog comment was funnier in its original context, though I've forgotten what that was.

Correction 4: Just pretend the copious nervous laughter isn't there.

Correction 5: I'm not actually all that busy. It is a convincing falsehood I have worked hard to cultivate. And now ruined with this statement.

Which reminds me that I need to refill the queue...

ETA: In actuality, my Tumblr is here, though I assume you were actually asking about the one I mentioned in the interview.

I also run this Tumblr, which I'm very much hoping goes mostly unnoticed and doesn't get me into trouble.

Okay, I'm slowly catching up and just listened to Adam's interview. You guys said such nice things about me! Thank you. And I could never hate pwebbers, silly!

It's so weird to picture Adam as a grownup, since when I met him he was a sweet, goofy 17/18yo kid. You really have changed so much! :)

Oh, and Leto II intimidated me until I met him at Endercon. Sunglasses indoors combined with the daily wardrobe - black jeans with button down shirts covered with large flame/dragon patterns.
___

Josh, have you ever seen The Guild (with Felicia Day)? It made me think of it when you were talking about the friends you make while playing MMOs.

Am I the only one that thinks Chris sounds slightly British? Bizarre.

I was chatting with a friend before a class started a few years ago, and was caught completely off guard by the girl sitting next to us leaning over to ask, "Where are you from?" in a way that suggested she was expecting me to answer with something a bit more exotic than "South-eastern Minnesota."

She seemed rather embarrassed and a bit disappointed when that's what I said.

I blame Monty Python.

I have FINALLY listened to these, and they are awesome.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I was thinking something in the Europe-y area, but couldn't think of anywhere specific. I assumed it was something with the slight Minnesota accent combined with some kind of... speech oddity or something.

I looked it up, and PWeb was mentioned in the acknowledgments of "Shadow Puppets"

And, Chris, I think you're giving Creed too much credit.

I'm surprised so many people mention Derwyddon as intimidating or whatever. Maybe I just got along with her better than everyone else because I got along with NG so well.
