Is something wrong with me?

Postby waffleman » Mon Jan 31, 2011 4:04 pm

Lately I have been having eye twitching. It started after I almost chocked and my eye twitched shut. I had small eye twitches for a week or so.

Today I went skiing and passed out in the rental place.

Both my toenails fell out because of me hitting them too hard during soccer.

At least i'm not allergic and have no serious problems.

Small muscle twitches are pretty common and usually go away on their own. Passing out for no apparent reason and toenails falling out easily sounds more troubling.

You should probably see a doctor. It could all turn out to be nothing but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Clearly you were never taught how to properly kick a soccer ball...you shouldn't be kicking it with your toes, you should be kicking it with the inside portion of your foot, close to but not actually the tip of your biggest toe. This gives you greater control of where the ball goes. You can use the toes to help maneuver when dribbling and it's also not unheard of to use the outside of your foot at certain times but really, there shouldn't be much cause to forcefully use the toes.

ETA: I suppose any number of things might constitute "hitting them too hard" in soccer but that seemed the most likely thing you meant, since you didn't specify.

I know how to kick a ball. My toenails did not fall out on random it was just two bad hits on my feet not because of me toe punting.

I'm going to see a doctor about my passing out soon.

What was the altitude difference between the skiing place and where you normally reside? I have a history of randomly passing out (in the mountains), but it is because I have terrible reactions to changes in altitude. You still should get it checked out, but it could be something like that.
So don't go worrying about me

My eyes only really twitch when I'm really, really tired. It can't hurt to get it checked out, though, what with the other things. Unless you've been pulling some major all-nighters you haven't mentioned here, in which case I prescribe a week or two of proper, regular sleep each night :P

Actually it doesn't. It is unpleasant because it hurts after when the nail is growing and cuts into the flesh. Then it hurts at times but when I lost the nail it didn't hurt that much.

On a seperate note I went to the doctors today and was told I am simply prone to fainting at this age. Nothing wrong with me just have to be careful.

Eye twitch gone hopefully for forever and i did stay up a bit later everyday but it all happened after I chocked so who knows.

Waffleman, is it your eye, or your eyelid that is twitching? Does it involve any other parts of your face? Is it ever a full blink, or just a spasm? Usually this is a symptom of another condition, most of which aren't serious (especially since yours seemed to be transient) but sometimes it can indicate neurological disorders. Just fyi. If it comes back, persists, or worsens, I'd consider having someone check you out for that, as well.

Thanks for the concern. It is my eye lid, its gone now. I really don't want to concern my parents.
