What should I name my new car?
What should I name my new car?
Jayelle and I just bought our very first new (used) car. It's a silver 99 Honda Civic with absolutely no frills. And it needs a name.
It's not "noob" to rhyme with "boob". It's "newbie" to rhyme with "boobie".

My first car was named Carl, but it was after a friend.

Actually, we already had seats. We needed one for Maggie to come home from the hospital, and we've needed one for Ginny when we get rides from people or when we rent cars.Does this mean you now need to get two car seats for the kids? I was just thinking about that. You probably had no reason to have car seats until now...

All cars that I will own will probably be named Brutus. My mom calls her cars Brutus, and it's just kind of stuck in my mind.

Woo! Mine felt like a Carl but didn't feel old-manish. He was little and purple.Based on various internet polls and driving it around for awhile to get the "feel" of it, we've decided on Carl the Car. A spaceship name would be good, but it's just too old-manish to not name Carl.

Yep. I have no idea why I wanted to nickname your car "Binky"*. It just always popped out at me whenever I saw that car - which is odd because that never happened with the twin car that my parents have, or any other car for that matter. All cars that I will own will probably be named Brutus. My mom calls her cars Brutus, and it's just kind of stuck in my mind.

Since it's a Japanese car, it should have a Japanese name in my opinion. Also as a car, it's name should imply or reference motion. Using that line of reasoning, a quick google search led to the following:
HIROYUKI meaning "great journey" (宏行) - Japanese boy name.
MICHI meaning "pathway" (道) - Japanese unisex name.
MICHIO meaning "man on a journey" (道夫) - Japanese boy name.
TAKAYUKI meaning "noble journey" (隆行) - Japanese boy name.
YOSHIYUKI meaning "righteous journey" (義行) - Japanese boy name.
I'm going to take a wild guess and and say yuki means jouney and you can mash pretty much any adjective with it to make a name that means "x journey."

I'm not really sure where you're going with this
Maybe I'm being dense and not knowing something I should know or misunderstanding something, but if it can be said I was "going" somewhere with this, it'd be a direct flight to Associationville, more specifically, to the suburb of "Mich is at the root of Michi(o) and I thought of you."

Seeing 'Golden Boy' and Josh's post with Japanese names made it so all I could think of was this Golden Boy. (edit: that's to a Wikipedia link, but the image on the page might be a bit risque)
