I'd be really jealous of the sleeping bag if I hadn't had an awesome Smurf sleeping bag.

Anyhow, a quick epilogue to the above photo montage.

Husband, after he woke up and came out to the living room: "What is my hairbrush doing on the floor?"

Me: "I needed it to brush my My Little Pony?"

Husband: "You did WHAT with my brush?"

Upshot of all of that was he thinks I owe him a new hairbrush. Pfft. Big baby.

A minute later, from the bathroom, "Why is there a wet washcloth on my book?"

Me: "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I was using the washcloth to clean the Pony. I'm so, so sorry."

He apparently did not think my apology was sincere, as it was given somewhat breathlessly between gales of laughter.

Husband: "I'm going back to bed!"

He knows I have "online people." He doesn't know a lot of details, otherwise, except that I had fun meeting some of them in Denver.

I just asked him if he thought you were weirdos, and he kind of shrugged, and I mentioned the "Does your penis float?" issue, and he said, "Well, yeah, that was a little out there."

ETA: But I'm pretty sure he just blames me for the hairbrush-and-washcloth problems. Even though I TOLD him it was online-people inspired.

I couldn't decide which one to take a picture of, so I did two.

Image
This is a stuffed animal that I gave my best friend when I was 7. He died of Lukemia when he was 8, and I got the bear back. No name, just lots of memories.

Image
This wasn't really from my childhood, but it was the absolute best kids meal toy ever. It's from Toy Story, and there's a button on the back that you press. His right arm swings up, grabs a fry from the backpack. Then you release the button and the fry goes flying. I tried it out for the photos, but apparently he no longer works correctly.

Noodle, I love the first one. Such a sweet story.

~~~~
Epilogue Part 2.
So, in my search for ponies on the Internet yesterday, I came across lots of tutorials for hairstyles and customizing ponies. I totally want to start making custom ponies, but that's not the point. The point is, that Pretty Vision -- who was, really, a bit dissatisfied with the decision to go natural yesterday -- got all fascinated by the rope braids. So. We now have Rastapony.
Image Image
And, of course, Tara had to get in on the action once again. She's quit attacking Pretty Viz, but has turned into quite a little camwhore.
Image Image
Okay, I swear. No more pony pictures unless someday I actually do start making custom ones.
(By the by, husband bought a new brush last night. Which, really, his is ancient and it's about damn time. So, actually, I did him a favor. :) )
ETA: By the way, "Rastapony" is a direct violation of Rule 34 as far as I can tell. Have half a mind to register a domain name of mykinkyrastapony.com.
I just feel compelled to mention, since this made me think of it... in one of the fan-made "abridged" series for MLP FiM, one of the episodes partially revolves around a hair brush as a plot element.
I got a photo, but I can't upload it because I'm at work (hosting sites are blocked), so unless someone wants to upload it for me, then you'll just have to wait for in the morning.
I can't beat the awesomeness that is Pheeny saying hi to the board but that's okay. :)
I was reading an article in which this quote was included and it can be read a few ways out of context of anything else but I sure as hell loved the way it was used in the context I first saw it in.
I need somebody with bad handwriting to post a picture so I'll feel better about mine. I nagged Alea to get this challenge up and haven't even contributed yet. Shame on me. I'll get one up before Monday, promise.
That came out really nice, Noodle. I'd ask if there were some sort of trick to get that sort of focus but I wouldn't understand the answer. :P
Thanks. No trick really, just the right lens with a shallow depth of field (the area of the picture that's in focus). I can post one that's less artsy if you guys really want to see my handwriting as messy as it is.
By the end of the week I expect to be posting mine. I'm waiting on a new phone to arrive with a (hopefully) better camera since I don't feel like going through the trouble to get some film and get it developed.
My handwriting is TERRIBLE, yours will probably look good when compared to mine.
Have you looked at your writing? Very pretty.
Or maybe I'm just jealous of people who can actually write cursive like a grownup.
Most people have a body image complex. I have a handwriting complex. I was harassed about my handwriting all of elementary school. It frankly doesn't look much different now, because I can't really make the letters in the same way the righties can. All the "handwriting" classes they forced me into were in vain.
This looks prettier in person. Oh, well.
Also, Helen, I hear you. They spent ages and used every little pencil-holder in the book to try to correct my pencil grip. I still grip my pens and pencils "wrong." Whatever.
No one ever told me it was "wrong", but being a lefty I never learned the over or under techniques and instead dragged my hand across what I had just written, getting graphite/ink on my ring and pinkie fingers.
