Green-tinted beer is also really popular, although apparently all of the bars on 21st (the street where almost all of the bars in my district are) are too cool to do anything special for St. Patrick's. One did say they were having a bagpiper come in and I was a little speechless.
Personally, I hate corned beef and cabbage, as a dish. I love corned beef sandwiches, though. Mmmhmm.

I've had corned beef and cabbage (and carrots and potatoes) twice this week and I don't even celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It's just the only time of year to get it at restaurants.

Mmmmm. I love me some corned beef and cabbage! We've been busy, so I'm making ours on sunday. Yum! I bought 5 corned beefs this week while they were on sale. 1 for this week, 4 for the freezer to enjoy year round!
Irish Oatmeal that we had for breakfast on St. Patrick's day. (Don't ask me why it's Irish. It was one of those homemade-layered-jar Christmas present. It was yummy.)

This is at a park in a nearby town, called The Crossings which is really fancy and must have cost a fortune. There is a lake with fountains and a bunch of koi and when it is chilly out, they all huddle together to keep warm.

Haha, my dad did the same with ours! First the koi, then the goldfish. Then, when he got this really ugly net, some raccoons decided to eat the shubunkin.Oh wow, I was trying to figure out what the red spot was until I read your comments! On a related note, my parents' neighbour had to put a grating over his koi pond to stop the heron from fishing in it.
Very pretty picture, though.

I very much appreciate it.Glad you guys like it. I almost used a picture of a canada goose and her baby geese but I didn't want to freak out Jan.
I'm amazed that I don't have one right off the bat this time, what with living in the land of rain these days, but I'm going to have to take one!

Okay, this is actually an old picture. But it's one of my favorites that I've taken, and it's water related, so I figured it would count.

Oh, all right. Here are non-cheating pictures taken with my phone of the pond/stream on the campus where I work.If Kirsten can cheat, so can I.
Sorry about the geese in this one, Jan, but everyone here loves them and they were coming towards me and kind of acting like they wanted to be photographed:

Spring Mountain Ranch, which is probably 10 minutes away from Red Rock. I wasn't actually supposed to be down there, as I had to walk off the path and down into that little creek to get the picture, but since nobody else was around I figured it couldn't hurt.Wil, is that in Red Rock?
Here are more pictures!

according to the rules.
I think there was a comment on cheating last month from Josh, which, when combined with this general statement from a few people makes me scratch my head.
Rules? (Where we're posting, we don't need rules [/requisite movie quote, slightly altered])
Prompt (pretty open ended still, I think)I'll throw out a relatively open-ended prompt, you make the picture happen with as much or as little creativity as you wish. No swiping from Google Images or similar online image searches. Original images only. Post your final product.
Original picture (maybe there was an implication you had to newly take the picture?)
Post (you guys got that down, solid...which is awesome)
If there's an old one, use it! So long as it's yours. Got more than one? Hit me up.
Down the road, say, end of December, early January 2012, I'll go with the first posted if there's more than one but way too early to worry about all that.

This photo was taken two years ago on May 10, so the timing is perfect. It features one of my favorite spring flowers, the lilac, and a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly that landed on it.
