It APPEARS to work in IE 8 (though the form f****** up)
Works in IE8 perfectly now.
Having the Earth be that big is distracting to my eyes. Plus if it is smaller it'll bring the categories higher on the page, which seem too low when firefox is full screen.
Works on my netbook in full screen now, without needing to scroll. Made the earth a little bit smaller. Good enuf'.
Why not put the menu across the top between the globe and search box instead of down the side? Although horizontal scrolling would be worse than vertical, even the smallest resolutions should be wide enough if you scale it right.
Design decision. Decided that it looked better being vertical.
Also - and I think I've mentioned this before - could you capitalize the P and W in Philotic Web in the globe logo? It looks goofy and unprofessional, in my opinion, to have it all lower case, especially since everything else is caps locked.
It offsets all the capital letters! Plus I rasterized the type and I can't change it now. Would be work to change it. It's not "unprofessional", it is stylized. Yeah. *nods*

Meh.

What's the resolution on your netbook?

Still not quite sold on the vertical menu.

1024x600.
It barely fits on my screen now, so I don't know how it'd work with that resolution.

Is that wrong? Even if it is, I don't really care at the moment because I'm more focused on coding the website. Which, bee-tee-dub, is coming along nicely. Everything you can see is dynamically driven. I'm slowly adding things and making things work.

Over five months... July 1st. Not really that far. That's just the official "let's transfer everything" date, as far as I am aware. Until then, forums here still work, and once I get everything set up we can start adding content to the website. :)

Wow, the new forum has nearly all the posts of this forum transferred over already. It even has all our usernames already registered. Though I don't what it's done for passwords, as I couldn't log in to mine.

1) Yay, DIVs!

2) I'm really not digging the 100px padding all the way down, nor the way it extends to fill on large screens.

Yeah, I had to figure out how to do it, so I went ahead and did it a few months ago. The passwords were randomly generated, but so long as you have a valid and recent email used here then you can perform a password reset if you want.

Battle room:

I like the color scheme and the fonts, but the earth is distracting, especially with how busy that corner is, and how it drifts off into blankness towards the righthand side.

Ideally, people should maybe start posting any content they know of or can find. Hopefully once all this is done, some people might be inclined to start adding stuff themselves so that I don't end up doing it all. It's going to be really quite simple.

Jan, we have until July but you're in charge of the welcome message on the home page.

Wil, webmaster, you and Jan, leader-lady, need to decide who has admin (site update) powers. Or otherwise start talking to each other if you haven't already.

Two-L, are you going to be doing site upkeep or are you just admin for domain purchasing purposes?

Josh will be around on the weekend, most likely, but he will do upkeep, I believe.

I don't believe any forum mods have expressed interest.

Interest, yes. Not sure how much time I'll have, though.

You can play with it, if you want. Go to the forums on the new website, and do a password recovery, then login, then go to the main page.

Only a few people are going to be able to add things. However, everyone who wants to help can do so. If you can think of something you want to add or things that should be included, go over to the Submissions forum and start adding stuff. The content should be community created.

As I get closer to finishing, I'd like it if a few people would volunteer to be editors to help add things and set things up. It shouldn't be too difficult, because most things will have a template to work off of.

I need opinions, please, and I know some of you have them, as well as better skills in the writing and grammar departments.

http://www.philoticweb.org/pweb/AboutUs/

Use Taal's history or come up with something from scratch?

Anything in strikethrough is just me messing around and won't be staying, of course.

I didn't go into the forum history yet, so that will make it longer, conceivably.

I'm willing to edit the hell out of anything on that page other than my table. I would be okay with moving that sucker but I would probably cry at least one little tear if asked to get rid of it. Okay, so I would edit that, too (up to deleting it but I like it, so I don't really want to).

Mostly, I want to know how we feel about Taal's history and get any feedback I can from you all. If it sucks, please, pretty please say so.

If you click any of them you will see that someone has changed them slightly to be a practical joke. (or so it seems)

I'm guessing someone was playing around with it?
