EDIT: Check the latest posts for new stuff.

I've been working on this for most of the week, and now that I'm done, I have to share it with someone.

Image

The Sam mentioned at the bottom of the page modelled the van, I modeled everything else. Except the trees, I just dropped those in. Oh, and the Ford insignia was my doing, as well. As for the textures, the background was all me. Sam started texturing the van, I finished it, as he was still busy modeling it.

I don't want to fill the page with images, so I'll just link the rest of the images:

The van looks a lot better than it did the other night and the bumper sticker is a nice touch. However, I still think there should be paving cracks in the sidewalks for added realism and the TV's blue screen still annoys the crap out of me.

It's Sam's van, which he bought for $400. It's a little less shiny and a lot more rusty, in reality. The point is, I didn't have much choice in the matter.

Those are awesome. I really like the view of the back, with the ladder reflection in the window.

Nice work--they look sweet.
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.

If you have a Mac, and are ready for a lengthy download (240mb), you should check out my other project of obscene awesomeness.

The third project that's been driving me to madness these past weeks is finished. Check it out on YouTube.

Edit: In the event that you're allergic to YouTube, it's now on Google, as well.

Nope, as in FrisCreed. But yeah, they do look a little on the 3dsmaxish side. I didn't want to model a freaking tree... And I was busy playing with the lights, anyways.

oh, well, u seemed familiar...

anyway, one of the few things that i can see, is with the tires... try making the tires seem slightly flat, by singing them into the ground just slightly to make the van look like it has some weight... also make the material for the rubber look less new...

anyway, good model....

yea, plants are tough... i totally understand the trees, and a great attempt with the grass too, bet that killed your render time... i usually just use photoshop afterwards....

Yeah, the grass looked better, but I had to thin it out to get Max to stop crashing on me... By the time we got to the tires, we were running out of time. And if it weren't a 3ds Max class, Photoshop would have been involved.

So, yeah, there's my list of excuses. :stoned:

1) No, but I'm the only person in this one, if you're curious.

2) Yes, that is very much his actual, Bob Ross-ian hair.

Your friends actually call you Fris?

Also, it's been awhile since I've heard that crazy babbling voice. Good memories, there. I love that thing.

I met them at a Halo 2 LAN, last year. I was using Fris as my user name, and that's how they've known me ever since.
