I am planning on getting my hair cut tomorrow but I'm getting last minute jitters. I need some input! Most of you boys will probably say I should leave it long (at least that's what the boys in my family always say) but blah. I usually cut it off every couple years. I plan on getting it cut a little longer than chin length...choppy, flippy. Here's a pic of it now when I don't do anything with it. I just let it airdry and brush it.

Well, you must have cut it by now, Nomi. What does it look like?
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I haven't taken a picture yet but it's...okay. Not exactly what I had pictured. It's actually not as short as I wanted and it looks like hair that I've had before, not that long ago (or so it seems) so it doesn't seem that new and exciting. meh.

You are very pretty, Kirsten.

And Nomi! You have hair like mine! Except nicer! Mine does the crazy wave thing, too, but I look silly in it. Which is why it's almost always in a ponytail. Well, that and work.

Yeah, I was sick of doing the ponytail half the time...so off it went! And I wasn't happy with the first cut, so I went back and got more taken off. I like it better now. But be kind because I'm still a little insecure (looking back at the picture of the long hair and pining)...

Aww, thanks guys...and i know i can always grow it long again. It's just the whole self-conscious, feeling-ugly-when-a-physical-crutch-is-gone thing that we all suffer from at times, ya know? but thanks!

Super-cute, for sure. It looks great.

v-girl, don't be fooled. Short hair is no less work! (Although you do save a bit of money on shampoo.)

Ms. Looker, looking sassy as always.

Also, let me be the first guy to weigh in, Nom: the hair looks great. And you know I'm not lying, because if I didn't like it, I'd simply sneak out through the cat door.

Beautiful! Congratulations on this being your last year.

If you're going for all out smile, I like the top one best. The bottom one looks too much like a school picture.

If you're going for contemplative, I like the sepia one, second from the bottom. That one you have the tiniest smile on your lips, almost mona lisa like. It is kind of ageless, too. I think you would like that one the longest.

hmmm, great...now i gotta think. I think it was bad to wear black, actually.

God, I couldn't stop laughing after the sepia one! I guess that one's the best of the bunch. There are a lot more online, though...

You know, between the fact that you're both in your U.S. army fatigues and the fact that the game behind you is "Target: Terror", I'm certain that there's some sort of political commentary just begging to be made.
You might just be on to something there. :D

Not a self-portrait, but a portrait of a friend. I did it for a literature/politics class, involving video games and violence (satirically, for the record). I mostly wanted to rotoscope a bit more, and a bit is true: this took me 40 hours.

I never want to rotoscope something in that resolution (~3000x2000 originally) again. EVER. My hand hurt. I got sick. I did nothing. For a week. School, work on this, sleep.

And I thought it looked damn fine when I was done.

Image

For the final step I rotoscoped a couple Uzis and stuck them in his hands, then put the pictures side-by-side.

My class seemed pretty stumped.

...I thought it was hilarious.

I usually hate pictures of myself and thus do not post pictures of myself all that often. However, I liked these enough to share. (My camera is also making an appearance or two...we're both closet picture whores.)
