Technically, I'm full term at 36 weeks (this week), so it really could be at anytime, but I wouldn't place my bets. Could be anytime in the next month to 6 weeks.
So, taking bets on the date. Winner gets to name Jan's baby*.

*okay, probably not

I choose November 17th, as that's my little brother's birthday and he's awesome.

For the record, the "official" date is Dec. 5th.

And no, you will not be naming our child. But you can nickname it!

If he/she is born on my birthday I should definitely get to name him/her. I choose... Megatron! I think it works for either sex.

I'd like to point out that December 11 would make the birthday 12-11-10. Only a few people in a century get chances like that. You must make it so.

...except it would actually be 11-12-10 or 10-12-11. Yaknow, in the calendaring schemes that actually make some amount of sense.

I would have said Dec 5th, since that's my anniversary, but it's taken.

Maybe Dec 3rd, since it's my dad's birthday.

Question (a bit too late, I guess, but still) -- how close was Ginny to her due date?

(Not that it really matters -- I was a month late. And the drugs to induce labor did not freaking work until they gave them to my mom, like, over three times. My brother, on the other hand, was a week and a half early.)

And no, they did not screw up the due date. My mom gets really irritated with that question. Apparently, they were really keeping track since they were trying for me. I was just a slow grower and some extra time to bake, okay? And I'm a born procrastinator.

You can be American and still use not-screwed-up dates. Did you think I was from somewhere else? What on earth would give you that idea?

(I remember putting the wrong number down first for a date as the very first thing I filled out on a form, and muttering "damn American dating system" when it was pointed out. The person who gave me the form asked me where I was from. "Um... Virginia")

I couldn't remember which book it's from...I guess that's why. I really don't like HH. It has a scene that bothered me a lot (rape of a teenage girl).

I haven't mentioned this, but one of our big contenders for a name is the same (real) name as a poster here. So there is actually a small chance that it will seem like we've really named our baby after you!

Well duh, everyone should name their babies Joshua Andrew. It's a pretty awesome name and common enough that you never have to explain to anyone how it's spelled or pronounced.

Are you having the baby at home or the hospital? And you have a midwife? Doula? I know you've mentioned one or both.

Friends of mine just had their first baby, a girl. They named her Naomi, which always makes me think of our Nomi. They have a weird Polish-type name, and someone joked that it was good that she had lots of vowels in her given name to balance it out.
