Hee. Thanks for clarifying. Although, I must say, it's really hard for me to read the word "delusion" as non-judgmental, given that to me it implies an incredibly difficult-to-treat break with reality.

(Also, if you know you're kidding yourself, you aren't delusional. Okay. I'm trying to move on, but the use of the word is really sort of bugging me. Ack. Sorry. One of those things.)
I'm the same way with the word "crazy." When poeple yell, "That's crazy!" I want to say, "No, that's a deviation from the outcome you expected. I can show you crazy."
Yay, I'm a llama again!

If anyone has some invites to google+ they wouldn't mind sharing, I'd take one. :)

So...privacy settings on this thing; I'm having a difficult time making sure I'm not open to the public.

Other than that, I kind of like how clean and simple it is.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out the privacy thing, too. I'm a little confused.

I was just thinking about the epic pweb chat capabilities on this things.

I told it twice that I was female, but it still had me as a male until I set it for the 3rd time. The first couple of invites I sent out said "stephanie wants you to join him on google+" and that was kind of embarrassing.

Same! I read this article called "Why Your Mom Won't Be Using Goole+ (and Why That's a Good Thing)" and it pretty much concluded it would push out non-geeks.

Plus, there's apparently some pro-gay Google ad running around that offended my entire family? So I can count on them hating Google forever.

Can any of our techies or gamers tell me why in-game cinematics won't work on my computer? I can watch the video files separately in a stand-alone media player like VLC, but in-game they're choppy if they play at all. And it's a problem in multiple games, so I'm pretty sure it's a computer problem and not with a specific game.

I have no idea. That's very odd.

I disagree here. I saw a posting a while ago that summed it up pretty well. I can't find the post anymore, but I'll summarize.

The thing that's awesome about G+ compared to other social media sites is the flexibility. If I post something I can choose the audience. If I post it to the public, it's a blog post. If I post it to a specific circle, it's a group message, or a semi-private blog post. If I post it to a specific person, it's an email. That's pretty powerful stuff right there. I can go from blog posts to private emails, to group chats all from the same site and user interface.

But most people just see it as "not facebook" and that's OK too. Personally I've been looking for something that's "not facebook" for a while now. My facebook account was overrun by people that I don't really care to be in contact with. And it's too difficult to target my status updates using facebook. Sure it's possible to exclude certain "friends" from seeing my posts, but it's more trouble than its worth. And I don't always want to broadcast my message to everyone who I friended on FB. I have different messages for family compared to friends.[/quote]

Absolutely no experience here, but... Windows or OS X? I've heard of some people having trouble with Deus Ex cutscenes and DX11; disabling it apparently helps, though don't ask me how you even do that.

If it happens with most games, it might just be your video card or its drivers. Have you downloaded the latest drivers in the past couple of months or so?

I just installed the latest Nvidia drivers and a Windows Update for Direct2D/3D, but there's no improvement that I can tell. Videos are still choppy or inoperable while the games themselves play fine.

So, does anyone have any advice for apartment hunting? I'm just in the earliest research stage right now. Tried google, craigslist and the good old fashioned yellow pages, but I'm still stuck with the two apartment complexes I already knew about. Not that either of them are bad, I'd just like to know all of my options so I can more easily compare prices and features. So, either I suck at it or there really isn't that much available in the area I'd like to live.
