It's lovely, Kelly, and seems very much who you are. I love that you're landing on perfection with first the ring, now the venue. Continued smooth sailing, minus the crap beforehand. :)

I'll slug it out

I know where this orchard is and I know the date. It's only a six hour drive from here. All you crashers let's plan a caravan Ala endercon to this wedding.

Re: Wedding Planning!
Thanks, everyone! Everything about the wedding was great!
Kelly, your orchard looks perfect and I'm so glad things are coming together for you!!
I am typing on my phone on the drive home from our cruise. The only dark spot on the honeymoon was that a guy jumped overboard in Cozumel. At the last update, he still hasn't been found. Rumor is it was a dare and he was drunk enough to take it.
Anyway! The photographer has pictures up. Ill post my favorites later, but his website is photographybyaj.com, go to online ordering, click on my wedding, and log in with my email (kimmiecat AT gmail)

Re: Wedding Planning!
I took down the numbers on my favorites:
4455, 4526, 4636, 4752, 4781, 4864, 4967, 5021, 5026, 5068, 5108, 5176, 5324
I actually left out a few because I felt like I was taking down too many numbers. I almost took notes but as you can see, I liked quite a few of them and that was just going to get too cumbersome.
Other notes of interest: boo Patriots and I think the redhead is wearing my exact groomsmaid dress.
Thank you for sharing. :)

Re: Wedding Planning!
Active planners, get thee to http://www.apracticalwedding.com at once, because the vendor directory is LIVE. Seriously, Adam, I know you and Renee are pretty much all set, but if there are any lingering details you need to farm out, the APW vendor directory is the way to go. I have only been on it for about three seconds and I'm obsessed. Erica, look into it, too!
Also, women, be you engaged, single, married, whatever other state of being there can be--you have heard Helen and me raving about APW pretty regularly around here, and I am here to tell you that it is awesome and affirming and generates amazing, insightful discussions among smart, perceptive women about what it means to be in relationships, and how we navigate the world as girlfriends, fiancées, wives, and just plain old people (and there's strong implications that motherhood--now an occassional post here and there--will become a regular feature in the future). Seriously. APW (along with Pweb) keeps me sane.

Re: Wedding Planning!
I could use some suggestions for a wedding site builder.
I kinda bought my wedding dress today. Wasn't really planning on it, but I just found the right one, on sale, so I decided to go for it.

Re: Wedding Planning!
Thanks Kelly, that should help a lot!
It's actually this dress in ivory. We're going to change it a bit, add some beading to fit our theme. I also got the dress preservation package today, too, so I'm all set.

Yay for dresses!!
Also, I feel old. No one had wedding sites when I got married. It was only (almost) 8 years ago. It's amazing how much the world has changed.

Re: Wedding Planning!
I really didn't want to do one at first, but given that we have SO many out of town guests coming, it would be so useful to have one place for all relevant information (so I don't have to answer the same questions eight thousand times).

Did you look elsewhere for potential themes? A quick google search found eleven wedding-specific options. I've had lots of luck finding quality, free themes for any occasion.I did my wedding website using wordpress. None of the themes at the premade sites fit what I wanted.
ETA: I just realized that "wedding websites" are for before the wedding. I totally thought they were for after. Like... recounting how the wedding actually went. Which probably doesn't make a lot of sense.
So... uh... just pretend I didn't say anything.

Re: Wedding Planning!
Emailed our top three caterers yesterday, as well as the Department of Health to ask about a specialty license so I can serve my own (Helen, close your eyes!) pie.
One generic response from a caterer, one awesome, informative, really enthusiastic email from another, and have yet to hear from the third. Dabbled around with wedding websites last night, but didn't build one because David wants to be involved in that process and he was writing a paper.
Feeling much rosier, on the whole, about wedding planning stuff. David's female cousins are coming over next Wednesday evening and we are going to have a paper-flower-making party.

Re: Wedding Planning!
Luckily (in this instance) we have all hardwood floors, so a quick sweep should do it.
I was pretty sure that the amount we set aside in our budget for food was not going to be enough. Having just received some sample menus from caterers, I find I was correct. Double our budget, easy. Although the estimates (most of them, any way) do include labor and tax and things, at least.
Time to look around and see what we can cut elsewhere....

Adam and I (well mostly me thus far) started our wedding website using theknot.com. I am not really a stickler for website formats...I am all about easy when it comes to web stuff! I am looking right now at that practical wedding ideas site and it is definitely interesting & I am sure I will find some good tips on it
Here is the link to Adam and my wedding site so far in case any of you are interested in checking it out:
