I have developed a shopping problem. To cure it, I think I'll head over to my favourite resale shop.

I can never remember how to either pronounce or spell the word milieu and, strangely enough, keep ending up in weird situations in which I need to say it or spell it. (I looked it up on dictionary.com before writing it here. I spelled it wrong initially and had to pick it out of suggested spellings.)

It's this kind of thing that makes me believe that there are Powers Out There and that they're bored enough to think that some of the life-lessons we have to repeat until we learn involve vocabulary.
There's another home somewhere,
There's another glimpse of sky...
There's another way to lean
into the wind, unafraid.
There's another life out there...

I, and my fiancée, are addicted to Arrested Development.

And I made myself download the music that GOB uses for his illusion shows this morning at work.

I have more pent-up anger in me than anyone else I know--and I'm not sure how to deal with it.

Privately I think I'm a bad student sometimes.

The corollary to that, of course, is that I sometimes think my Latin classmates are idiots.

I love arguing religion. When I see someone on a streetcorner handing out flyers or little booklets on why I"m going to hell or anything like that, I'll usually stop and engage them in a nice discussion or debate on religion. They're usually more than happy to discuss the bible with me, and we both usually learn something. But I can never bring myself to argue with little old ladies. I'll just take their literature with a smile and wish then a nice day.

I am horribly, embarassingly passive agressive. And I lie a lot over uncomfortable topics if I think I can get away with it.
I feel a need to confess the same thing.

confession:

i love dorky science jokes. including the following:

a neutron walks into a bar and orders a drink. he asks the bartender how much he owes, and the bartender replies, "for you, no charge."

what do you do with a dead chemist? Barium!

similary dorky and embarassing confession:

I love puns. I walk through Trader Joes pointing out the witty product names to anyone who will listen and laugh my patootie off.

Examples:

A 'Shroom With a Roux (mushroom side dish with sauce)

An Apple Walked into a Bar (breakfast bar with apple in the middle)

Rosencrunch & Guildenpop (like Fiddle-Faddle)

good stuff...hehe!

I think I'm better at hitting notes and staying on key when singing in my falsetto voice....

I still really want to make a career out of singing, though I never will...

I get confused whenever someone makes reference to that adage of the pot calling the kettle black. Usually, I try not to contest comments regarding it, because I think I'll just have misunderstood it.

In the thankful thread, two people referred to being thankful for knowing/learning latin and it made me really jealous. Latin wasn't offered in my high school and I haven't gone to college. I did, however, buy an Idiot's Guide to Learning Latin that I have yet to read. :?

Wheelock's Latin is better. And it comes with a workbook. :)

And if you have any questions, Wheelock or no, feel free to ask.

I just realized when talking with a friend today that I absolutely despise the college application process. I got into all of the colleges I applied to, but it was the worst experience of my life. I just hate it, and I'm so very glad that I don't have to go through it again.

Sorry to any Americans who have yet to apply, but yeah, it sucks.

I think my OGS application might be better than my SSHRC application, despite having spent four weeks on my SSHRC and, uh, a couple hours last-minute on my OGS.

Confession: I REALLY REALLY hated applying to undergrad. I even chose not to apply to a school cuz i wasn't sure how to fill out the app and I didn't care enough to ask. I found applying harder than actually getting in. As for law school, I hated that application process as well. Bloody nightmare filled with repetitive s***. And the school I was most interested in I chose not to apply to because the apps were too long.
