Man, my subconscious is doing great work. I totally forgot to capitalize my username when I signed up on this version.
Yeah, I didn't either with my first username. Which is kinda funny.

This is hard for me to admit, because I am both adverse to putting myself out there and I always found the idea of this to be kind of silly. I, er, spontaneously registered to an online dating website. I came across it randomly on Saturday and signed up, just for the hell of it. Then, to make matters worse, I got a message from it! For some crazy reason, I even messaged someone today! Though, I totally expect to not get a reply.

I am afraid. Not only for what this means to me (is this healthier? is this silly? is it BOTH?!), but also for where it might lead (will it be a good thing or a bad thing?!). Also, this was surprisingly hard to write, so much so that I almost made myself post it using the Confessions moniker.

Here's my midnight confession (good song), before I go to bed: I am in love with someone who doesn't exist, at least not anymore and if I'm being honest, they might never have.

Let the judgments commence.

Goodnight.

Confession: I often feel sorry for or ascribe feelings to inanimate objects. I think I've mentioned here before about how I always pick Oatmeal Raisin cookies at Subway because they don't get picked as much, but I also feel bad when I do things like flush the toilet just after it's finished it's tank refill - like it just got a chance to rest and now it has to work all over again. I feel bad for the microwave when I stop it with 1 sec left, like it didn't get to be satisfied and beep like it wanted to. I am sad for socks with no mate, happy when I find a lost mate, etc.
And this xkcd really sums up how I feel about automatic doors:

I tend to feel slightly bad about that.... but because I feel like I'm wasting water.

Whenever I leave the tap on while I'm brushing my teeth, I feel guilty. The real confession, though, is that it's because of a Barney song I remember two lines from when my brother watched it as a toddler.

I actually think that online dating through gaming is not a bad idea. This, however, is not that.

Confession: I don't know why this makes me feel guilty, but something about wading into the sea of confusing, irrational, and mindless posts cropping up all over is making me not respond to lots of threads today.

Confession: Sometimes I associated usernames with their avatars and sometimes I associate them with their actual faces. Obviously, some people don't post pictures, so the avatar is all I got. But for example, I know that I have seen pictures of Mich, but he will always be that creepy turtle thing in my head. I don't know why or when the associations happen, but they do. Funny enough, I have a clear picture of zero in my head.

Confession: Yea, I'm 20, live on my own, etc, but my parents would still not approve of me going to Colorado to meet people off the internet. I need to work on their issues. Of course, going to Las Vegas to celebrate my birthday with planned debauchery with one of my bffs might not be the best way to help with said convincing....but uh, its my money.

I'm not really sure how to phrase this...

My confession is somewhere between:

"I feel guilty doing well on exams when my friends do poorly."

and

"I'm afraid of letting my friends know how I'vd done on exams because I'm afraid they'll stop hanging out with me because they get jealous."

Bastards are right! I legitimately didn't want to hurt the bird - partially because it was clearly protecting a nest...but when you're staring one in the face 'cause it's flying straight at you as fast and aggressive as it can, it takes all my restraint to, well, break herbivorism as you'd put it

Seriously, I await the day when someone kills, plucks, and cooks me a Canada goose. I would eat it. Out of spite.

My English friends don't understand my hostility toward Canada geese. I think it has to do with how arrogant they are here, protected species and all that tripe. They know they can get away with being jerks and we can't do anything about it.

Even the geese in Michigan are more humble. They know their place.

Jerks.
