And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears.
And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears.
Get over your hill and see what you find there,
With grace in your heart and flowers in your hair.

I've now had it for 6 months, and I've only had one problem with Windows Vista: it wouldn't run Battlefield 2. I didn't care. I didn't want to play it. Which means...
I like Windows Vista. It's been more stable for me than XP ever was, things run better, it has many conveniences, and many more. Which also means I'm one of those people that scoffs when you blame Vista for your computer problems.
I apologize in advance.

Confession: I have considered plastic surgery and although I'll never do it, I think I would seriously pause and reconsider under two conditions: I had the spare money and I had a 100% guarantee that it would not harm/kill me (which will never happen; probably a good thing). I would have 3 things done but the only thing I'm willing to admit to is my nose. I can say the others aren't breast implants or liposuction of any sort.
Confession: I feel like it's bad of me to even consider it because the big thing to do is tell people they should love themselves exactly how they are.

Preachy moment: Loving & accepting yourself exactly as you are does not preclude wanting to change.
Confessional moment that somewhat undercuts above: I am so grossed out. In the car today, I looked at myself in the rearview mirror and saw a dark hair stuck to my neck. I tried to brush it off, and it turned out it was growing out of my neck. About an inch long. Like, about halfway down my neck where no hair should be. I cannot but wonder how long it was there before I yanked it out. Ew.
Also, I occasionally find white hairs growing out of my scalp. I yank them. I'm pretty sure it's the same 2 or 3 that keep trying to grow back. Eventually, I'm hoping learned helplessness principles will kick in and they'll just give up.

I gave up on the grey hair thing when I was about 18. Now I just think of it as tinsel. It's so sparkly against the rest of my very dark hair!

I have a twin neck hair that I try to remember to pluck before it gets longer than 1/4" or so.Confessional moment that somewhat undercuts above: I am so grossed out. Also, I consider myself fairly fortunate that I didn't find my first grey hair until I was around 27. Now, five years later, I only find and pull out 5-6 of them every couple months.

Confession:
My intern buddy is much more suited for the potential job opening that I just found out about today than I am.
And I'm not going to tell him about it.

And that resolution to be hard-hearted and cutthroat lasted all of about ten minutes when he came into the office that day. It led into a very interesting discussion about the course of our careers.Confession:

I hope they hire two people, and it's us that they hire.
But if it's one opening and the two of us -- yeah, they'll want him.

I know. It was horribly phrased. I've been tempted to change it on several occasions.
you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

I think I phrased it that after someone early on logged in and changed the password to something else. After I switched it back, I must have been feeling irritated. Man, it's like an archaeological dig, only with poorly-phrased snark instead of Roman ruins...
I'll change it now, I guess.

Who controls the British crown? Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who leaves Atlantis off the maps? Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car? Who makes Steve Gutenberg a star?
We do! We do!
Who robs cavefish of their sight? Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do, we do!

Confessions: I am so incredibly inept at attempting to make connections with girls that it is past the real of humor, it is merely sad, like a crying clown. Apparently I'm doomed to just wait around for them to make connections with me.

I have 18 messages on my voice mail.
Because I've started avoiding my money issues again and now I'm afraid to listen to them.
And, just like I tell my clients happens when you start avoiding, it is not getting easier to go back and face them.

I need more jeans. I think I have exactly one unholy pair. That's not a good collection.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).
