Rosetta Stone and other language learning tools.

Postby Graff^ » Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:42 pm

I've recently decided I wanted to learn Latin. I've looked into Rosetta stone but the reviews are mixed and it's alot of money(for me at least) Has anyone uses it before? Or do you have suggestions for me?

I've used Pimsleur. It's an audio-based tool. Used it because I could download it for free from a torrent.

You don't really need audio for Latin, though.

Also, EL and I need Latin!

This is just a supplemental tool for flashcard-type stuff, but I've like using Anki before. No idea if there are premade Latin decks floating around for it, though.

Oh, the people at Bolchazy-Carducci have two sets of e-flashcards for Latin which also have options for ipods/etc. They are also the leading educational publisher for Latin.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Green Eggs and Ham, The Giving Tree, a couple ABC type books, and a bunch I'm forgetting. You can also get such awesomeness as Winnie Ille Pu, Harrius Potter, and Asterix Gallicus from different publishers.
