I feel like this is the sort of thing that's always been going on, but it's only recently that the internet's been used to connect us with all the most laughable examples.

But then, maybe that's just me trying to pretend I don't live in a country where government and politics have been co-opted by dumbasses who got tired of being told "No, you can't be President."

His website is pretty much what I'd expect after watching that video.

Is this guy a Time Cube follower or something? (the video reminds me of Gene Ray, too).

edit: because I can't type after working a 12 hour shift at work...

Aww. As silly as he is, he seems just earnest enough that Colbert having a go at him seems cruel and unusual.

He may seem earnest but try dealing wit this man as a customer for a few seconds and you'd understand...

Just because he can register to run doesn't mean he's a serious candidate with any hope of victory. Alvin Greene is newsworthy precisely because he actually won a primary, something these kinds of candidates don't often achieve. Notice that no one is claiming Greene made it on merit; average folk recognize this kind of inability when they see it.

Basil will not win the primary.

I was reading about the candidates and issues for the primary here and I saw the name "Goodspaceguy" running for U.S Senator. His website gave me a good laugh.
