Who had today in the pool?
I always assumed some time in June... it's just such a crazy-sounding month.

*stubbornly shakes head* No! Don't wanna!

I want to save 4,000 for a special occasion. What's going to happen is I'm going to sign in out of habit and waste it to say something silly but I'd like to try to find something good for that one, seeing as hitting 4K is something I never got around to doing on Pweb 2.0.

Welcome to the club, Steph!
I want to save 4,000 for a special occasion. What's going to happen is I'm going to sign in out of habit and waste it to say something silly but I'd like to try to find something good for that one, seeing as hitting 4K is something I never got around to doing on Pweb 2.0.
What happens if/when you hit 3,999 as Petrie?!

Please. It took me nearly 5 years to get to 3,999 on GD. If something even remotely classifiable as "special" doesn't happen to me in the next 5 years, I'm doing something wrong.

In that case, I'll A) Offer to help out someone who is struggling with post count and wants to join this snazzy club, B) Create a new username, C) Get over it and go back to GD or D) Kill myself, because that's just sad/pathetic and there is no hope.

Worst case scenario, which is an awesome case scenario, is I'll use GD-4K for my move...which will undoubtedly happen in the next 5 years.
So raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways, all my underdogs.

Add it to the list of things that make the oldbies still feel not part of the group: no explanation on these ancient nicknames!

Of course, getting my own (very seldom-used by a larger population) nickname kind of helped. :D

no explanation on these ancient nicknames!

Someone can correct me on the parts I mess up, because I will here, but some -quite a few of them- of the nicknames you see (Chico - Josh, Fabio - Rei, err...others - others) came from Pweb chat's heyday.

People were jokingly given certain roles; chat killer, sticker giver, etc. and nickname giver was one of them. Jan was this person. She would randomly decide on a name for a person and there was usually no rhyme or reason for it. Hence, randomly decide.

However, some nicknames (Fred, Fetus) came from others and for reasons I'm not too clear on. I think Fred came about because of ValentineNicole and wanting to spare confusion.

Fetus may have come from him thinking he was established as a poster because he had a million posts in a month and someone calling him a newbie but I can't be sure about that.

Other nicknames were more personal/one-on-one things that made their way on the board.
