Things I regurgitate
There are two things in this world that I cannot eat.
Mayo and Sour Cream. I will throw them up. They're disgustipating.

Wikipedia says regurgitation can refer to vomiting, though they're different.Regurgitation and vomiting are 2 totally different things!

And my diagnostic medicine books say they're different. And that the difference can be quite important for diagnosis. (Granted, the importance of that difference is probably greater in vet med since my patients can't talk to me.)Wikipedia says regurgitation can refer to vomiting, though they're different.Regurgitation and vomiting are 2 totally different things!

Honest -- and probably foolish -- curiosity here: what exactly is the difference?Regurgitation and vomiting are 2 totally different things!
Is it to do with one being done deliberately (for example, to feed young) and the other being involuntary (due to illness)?

It more involves the presence or abscence of gastric fluid. Regurg usually doesn't make it all the way to the stomach, and therefore doesn't have gastric fluid (it's also usually undigested and often associated with meals... though those aren't diagnostic for it). Vomiting comes from the stomach, and therefore contains gastric fluid.

Lima beans make me gag. I hate everything about them, the taste, the smell, the look, the texture. They're just disgusting.
Asparagus isn't much better.
As far as vomiting vs. regurgitating, there's a distinction between technical uses of words and those same words used in common speech. It's perfectly acceptable to refer to "a" and "t" as "sounds" normally, but if you're talking linguistics, they are actually symbols that (sort of) represent sounds. The actual sounds are "low back unrounded vowel" and "voiceless alveolar stop". To most people, regurgitating and vomiting are the same thing, and you're not going to hurt anything by using them interchangeably.
Language is a social phenomenon, and therefore it is dependent on social context. Many of the prescriptions you find against certain usages in modern English are really not absolutes. In casual speech, there's nothing wrong with ending a sentence with a preposition, or splitting an infinitive. In formal writing, on the other hand, things like this should probably be avoided. It all depends on the audience, and what you are trying to accomplish.

Asian pot stickers. I used to love them.
But, I had some one time, and got really sick. Possibly the sickest I have ever been. I did not get sick from the pot stickers, they were innocent bystanders. However, I cannot stand them to this day, can't stand to look at them, never mind eat them. It took me several years to even be able to go to a Chinese restaurant or stand the smell of stir fry or smell Asian food being heated in a microwave without feeling a little queasy.

I had a similar experience with quiche, except I never liked quiche much and I blame the quiche directly. Quiche is revolting.Asian pot stickers. I used to love them.

Oat meal. I can't smell it and I sure as heck can't try to eat it anymore. It won't even make it past my tongue.

Not necessarily vomit-worthy, but 2% milk does make me gag. Why anyone would drink fat is strange to me. Skim milk, every time.
Also, an entire group of foods - though not all from personal taste - is pretty much any kind of non-fish seafood: shrimp, lobster, crab, oysters, clams, mussels, etc. While I don't like the taste of the latter few, I have to refrain from all of them or I will swell up like Martin Short in Pure Luck. Alas, no shrimp, lobster or crab for me.

If you can eat butter, 80% fat, or cheese, which is around 30% fat for soft cheeses and 60% fat for hard cheeses, you can drink whole milk, which is around 5% fat or something near there, or 2% milk.

Whole milk is generally 4% fat and we get a half gallon delivered every week. That's right, delivered by a milk man. It's awesome. I personally don't see how people can drink skim milk...why not use water?
However, I have always disliked the taste of cow's milk in any variety so my husband is the one who drinks it and I use almond milk.

sonikku, you don't put butter in a glass and just eat it. You take a tiny sliver of it and put it on something. Cheese is usually a thin slice also placed on something. Milk is something you pour in a cup and drink. Is the difference between quantity of consumption too complicated for you?
Luet, why not use water? Because of the 8 grams of protein per serving, the 30% dv of Calcium and the 25% dv of Vitamin D and 25% dv of B2.. Oh, and the fact that, you know, water tastes pretty s***** in a bowl of cereal.

1% or 2% milk, any day. Not to thick and fatty like whole milk, and not watery like skim milk. Satya, some people actually need some fat on their bones (like my sister) and it's actually fine if they drink whole milk. Others feel the need to drink skim milk, and that's just their preference.
You musn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling.
