Don't be fooled by the marketing, it has nothing to do with the true story. I hate when they use taglines like that! If you aren't already asleep I will link a dozen wikipedia articles that prove my point about this true story, Rudy, Iron Will, Eight Below, and that new Sanda Bullock movie I haven't gotten to seeing yet but which I'm sure has nothing to do with the true story it's based on either.

At least that King Arthur movie from a few years ago was completely accurate to the true story, though.Don't be fooled by the marketing, it has nothing to do with the true story. Not too bad but I think it's more like:*big important narrator voice* And inspiring the whole rest of the world to be even lamer.Inspired by a true story.
In a world where the lame congregate on a message forum, discussing characters who took over the world on a message forum, one man tried to stand out. *explosion* Join us this summer as Satya tries to do the impossible *helicopter* and make Pweb cool. *random and unnecessary woman in a bikini...probably screaming or looking vapid and fade to black*

Would you believe I never actually finished the movie? My sister and I got out the rum, put the subtitles on so we could sub the words "lobster" and "pants" into the dialogue, and got bored of even that within about 40 minutes. We gave up, had to return the video, and I've never felt the need to finish it.
And I made it through Troy. Twice.

Re: You guys are kinda lame.
Got to agree right here. The lameness level has certainly elevated.True story.
Blind Side. It's at least true in the sense that it's what the family really asserts is true. More or less (link contains spoilers).that new Sanda Bullock movie
That's an interesting way to address the whole concept of "true stories": accurately depict someone's point of view. Then it's only wrong to the extent that person is biased. Bones/Kathy Reichs is another example, wherein the character in the TV show is a cross between a real person, who is also a consultant on the show, and a fictional, semi-autobiographical character written by that consultant. Doubtless, the individual stories and much of the character's history is fiction, but it bodes well for the realism of the procedural elements and virtually ensures some autobiographical elements will remain solidly true.
