Dear left side of jaw,

I know that week of having an unlevelly filled cavity was very upsetting for you. But it is fixed now, at least, I think it is. It's been almost a week now and you are still hurting me a lot! Are you trying to tell me that the filling is till not level? Or are you still hurting from that bad week? I just don't know. Large amounts of ibuprofen and heating packs don't seem to be working. Another trip to the dentist might be necessary. boo!

Dear Face,
I think it is horribly unfair that you give me no acne during all of middle and high school and then decide to break out all the time now that you're twenty. It's just rude.

Sincerely,
Me

Dar body,

Please stop weighing so much, it really isn't nice.

Also, what's up with all these grey hairs I'm finding everywhere these days?

Thanks,

Me

Dear Skin,

You make me say "owie!" and "I'm itchy" an awful lot these days. Dude. I don't have to have the pregnancy glow, but do we have to go this far in the opposite direction? And chin! What the f***?

Please, please, please give me some slack here. Please. I am begging.

I'm sorry, tony! I hear ya. I get them many times a week even with high doses of preventative meds. They suck!

Also, please stop hiccuping.

a friend of mine was able to get rid of their migraines by ditching wheat, it's partly why I'm strongly considering trying wheat free for October.

I had migraines a couple times a week for a few years, but for some reason, the past two and a half years have been migraine-free except for one that I had a month or two ago.

Is that when you started BCPs? I know that helps migraines in a lot of people. Unfortunately, they made mine worse.

Antidepressants. I've been med-free (except for BCP and my antinausea pill) since February, though.

Ah, well maybe the antidepressants helped the migraines and then the BCPs took over when you stopped the AD. That would be nice! :)

I usually get a migraine about once a month or so. It's always been that way and I presume it always will be that way. I've tried every kind of med I could get my hands on, and none of them worked for me. (of course I haven't been exactly good at going to the doctor for the past, ummmm.. decade) Maybe there's something new that I could try.

Have you tried any of the triptans? Imitrex made me sick but zomig and maxalt worked well for me.

I had Imitrex nasal spray for a while, and they wanted to get me on the Imitrex shots, but I had to go to the hospital for the first dose so they would be sure I didn't have any major allergic reaction. I couldn't drive myself to the hospital with a migraine, so I never got that shot.

I haven't tried any other triptans. I keep telling myself I have to go to the doctor to have the migraines looked into, but I'm failing miserably at that.

Dear Body,

Just because we get up early on workdays doesn't mean we have to follow that same rule on the weekends, I don't care what the sun says. We were already tired (when are we not?) and did not help things by staying up way too late, so why are we waking up "on time" when that means we're getting less sleep than we need? Please work on this.

Love,
Me

Dear Stomach and Esophagus,

Waking me up to severe and strong acid reflux that then causes me to choke and cough is NOT cool. Two days in a row is less cool. Keep this up and I shall be quite displeased with you.

Dear Body,

On top of the heartburn, today you've decided I should be graced with my first ever skin tag. Joy oh joy.

I freaking hate the skin I'm in.

*Kirsten* I totally can sympathize with you. When I was pregnant with Kinley, granola would give me heartburn. It was very sad. Skin tags are no fun either, but they don't seem to last on me.

I think chronic heartburn would be one of the worst things about pregnancy. I don't have skin tags but I have sebaceous hyperplasia. They are small so far but if they get much bigger I'm going to see about getting them lasered off. People usually don't get them until after 50. What the heck?! :x

Dear head,

Please stop hurting. You have been hurting every single day for weeks, from around noon until bedtime. The pain starts off mild and gets worse and worse until it's nearly unbearable. I can take migraine medicine that helps but I'm not supposed to use it daily. What the heck is wrong with you? I upped the dosage of the migraine preventative a couple weeks ago. That was supposed to make you feel better, not worse. But...I guess that hasn't worked. So, should I just reduce the dosage? Dang it.

Aww, Kirsten. If I could, I would post you my spare bottle of gaviscon. I got a prescription when I left the hospital, and was all thanks, but we've fixed that problem already.

Body,

It's been 2 weeks. 2 weeks of waiting. I'm ready for this to be over. I know it will be painful, but the waiting is killing me. The symptoms are worse instead of better and that just makes it harder to deal with. I have things coming up that I can't bare to miss. If you make me miss Lion King with my kids on Thursday, I don't even know how my heart will deal with that. Please, just be done, ok? Today would be good. While Brian's home with me. Please?

Body,

Please stop with the breaking out. You've been so good for almost a year now. The occasional pms flare-up is acceptable but this is going on for too long. I'm having to break out the stockpile of Accutane pills. Not cool!

Dear Face,

Enough, already? Please? I surrender. You've shown me your awesome breakout power. I keep reading about women who have acne and then wake up one day and everything is amazingly clear. Could we do that, now? Please?

Me

Dear Wrists and Hands,

Owie, owie, ouch. I'm so, so, so sorry. I wish I knew how to make it get better and stay better, other than giving birth. I promise, we will do stretches every day, even after baby is born so that we never get this permanently. I hope.

Dear Body,

I love you. I'm sorry you're hurting right now but you have to know, if there was anything I could do to make it hurt less, I would. And you know we have to do this again in a few weeks. Be strong; I know you can do it.

Dear Body,
Please don't get sick. I can handle this sniffling but I don't want it to get much worse than that. I know the roommate has some awful disease right now, but there is no need for you to give up. Remember how we didn't get the swine flu when she had it? Be strong like you were then.
