EL: *laughter* "Way to confuse the Mabinogion with Harry Potter!"

I am in the city of my college; I graduated over a year ago and though I've been back, I hadn't really paid much attention to the details then. This place is stranger than I remember. In a completely hilarious, inappropriate, talking about drug paraphernalia with my mother way.

Ok, I only just saw this comment.

*sigh* Yes, I suppose that's true. Of course, they don't quite make me laugh as they make me cry. But at least they made it to the Round of 16...

I just discovered an account from 2005 in which I listed a favorite Ender's Shadow "pairing." I don't recall EVER liking them together THAT much. But I laughed pretty hard when I saw that because I was like, wait, what now?

Haha, I am so definitely a "shipper" though I only just learned the term via this post.

Harry/Hermione, Bones/Booth, Spike/Buffy, Robin/Ted, Penny/Leonard, Sawyer/Kate, Andy/Nancy...And the list goes ON and ON.

I hate Jack, LOL. But I LOOOOOVE Sawyer. I totally have a shirt that says, "I'd get Lost with Sawyer"

And Kelly, yup. I was all about Harry/Hermione in the early books!

I think the Jack/Sawyer thing is about whether you like nice, good guys or the bad guy. I like nice guys, so I like Jack. If you like the bad guy, then you're going to like Sawyer. I think he's a jerk (with occasional tender moments).

Oh, definitely. I can't stand Sawyer--he's still the guy hoarding the supplies to me, and if that means I am disregarding 6 seasons of character development, so be it. However, I would totally watch a spin off with Sawyer & Miles as police officers. They could even be semi-supernatural police officers, even.

I think the reason I ship Harry/Hermione because I identified with Hermione (it was even my nickname at the beginning of high school), and had this extensive theory about how in Book 7, Ron was finally going to stop being so much dead weight for the team. Sorry Ron :?

I've always identified with Hermione, too. Which is why I'm even MORE horrified to hear people ship Harry/Hermione.

Ron was finally going to stop being so much dead weight for the team

Are you trying to KILL me?!

I'll never forgive Jo for the character assassinations of Ron and Lupin (and Dumbledore, to an extent) in book 7. Atrocious.

Regardless, Ron is the best, and my favorite by far. I actually sort of can't stand Harry. He's my least favorite of the trio.

You know, compared to your initial reaction to Book 7, I have to say, vowing to never forgive her is rather mild. Not to mention considering the character assassination of Dumbledore as being only "to an extent."

Things that make ME laugh? Reading the pweb thread on Book 7. Seriously. Not laughing at anyone, just because, damnit, we were all pretty freaking witty (while being deadly earnest) in our explanations of just what Ms. Rowling did wrong.

I STILL say having a Horcrux located in someone else's bank vault was a ridiculous letdown.

Don't worry Kirsten. I can still ramp up the outrage and indignation if need be. Reenacting DEATHLY HALLOWS with utter disdain is still one of my go-to literary party tricks.

My brother is deciding whether to pledge a fraternity and this is hilarious because my parent's reaction was originally befuddled amusement, which is slowly turning to encouragement because he won't be able to get into the parties if he's not in one....loool.

Shouldn't the parents be trying to actually keep him from partying during the college years? XD lol

This is why it is funny (and if he gets in trouble he gets his scholarship taken away so it is all his fault anyways). But also kind of annoying, because if I even mentioned drinking alcohol before turning 21 I got the look of disdain/judgment from them. Double standardddd.

A friend of mine on the phone (a few years ago):

"Tonight? Oh, tonight I'm going to a party, mom."
"Where at?"
"Err.... well, um, a frat house."
"Oh my. Well, make sure to not let your soda out of your sight, dear."
*looking uncomfortable but also trying not to laugh* "Um, yeah, okay."

Me: "So in my remote sensing class"
My dad: "Is that what they did in Men Who Stare At Goats?"
Me: *headdesk*

My dad, holding bottle of blueberry beer: "This was my childhood dream!"
Me: "Your childhood dream was to make beer out of blueberries??"

Spoiler Alert!
Zuckerberg cites “Minimalism,” “Revolutions,” and “Eliminating Desire” as interests. He likes “Ender’s Game,” a coming-of-age science-fiction saga by Orson Scott Card, which tells the story of Andrew (Ender) Wiggin, a gifted child who masters computer war games and later realizes that he’s involved in a real war. He lists no other books on his profile.
