Re: A Day in the Life of LilBee
Whole grains give me heartburn when I'm pregnant. Oatmeal, granola, wheaties, and oatmeal squares are all a big problem for me. It makes it hard to eat a healthy breakfast. Lucky Charms and Frosted Flakes don't give me heartburn.

That's interesting, steph; a lot of grain cereals (like cheerios and sometimes oatmeal) give me indigestion too.

Re: A Day in the Life of LilBee
Cheerios and, less commonly, other oat cereals, when mixed with apple juice give me the most vile burps and an upset stomach all day.

Re: A Day in the Life of LilBee
I was supposed to do this over Christmas break but I never got around to it. My spring entry may end up being rather similar to this, unless I have some thrilling new routine by then.
Here it is--a Winter Workday (this last Tuesday, to be exact).
I woke up and checked Pweb before motivating myself to get out of bed.
I picked out my outfit. I decided to wear the new shirt I got from Wal-mart (I'm classy like that).
Ate a very healthy breakfast.
After I was all ready, I decided to check the weather to see how much bundling up was necessary. I decided to start walking to work this last week because it makes me happy. It's less than a mile, so the cold doesn't get too unbearable.
I got to enjoy the sunrise on my walk.
You can't really tell, but my hair got a little frozen from me breathing on it.
A bit of an amendment to my previous statement: the cold generally doesn't get too unbearable, but dress pants do not have the same degree of insulation that khakis do. My thighs were quite numb by the time I got the hospital.
I got to lab just in time. This week I was working in hematology and urinalysis, which is interesting, but nothing too exciting came in that day.
As an intern I get free lunch at the hospital cafeteria (it's their compensation for my free labor). Tuesday's special was meat loaf and mashed potatoes. It was surprisingly good. Great thing about this gig: I am getting way more protein than I usually do.
I got off work around 2 and had a nice pleasant stroll back to my apartment.
Since I was all energized and it had become a relatively warm day, I decided to finally go in and get my poor flat tire fixed.
One of the tire places in town had a coupon on their website for a free flat repair, so I stopped by the library to print it off.
(See what I did there? Stop sign. Library. "Stopped by the library." I'm so clever.)
Turns out they repaired the flat for free anyway, so I apparently just wasted 10 cents. Ah well.
While I was out and about, I decided to pick up some groceries.
After I got home and put away all my groceries, I deserved a break. So I cuddled up with a good show.
The rest of the evening I sat around doing a whole lot of nothing until it was time for bed.
I went to sleep, ready to start it all over again the next day.

Thanks for posting this! It's brave of you to walk to work when it's that cold out. And what kind of bat-creature is that by your bed?

That would be my lovely build-a-bear, Teddy. He's pretty awesome.

Teddy is a pretty original name for a Bat-bear.

Re: A Day in the Life of LilBee
Would it be more original if it was because Christian Bale plays both Batman and Teddy (in Little Women) and I went through a major fan-girling phase?
That isn't actually the case. Teddy is just what my boyfriend named him.

I originally meant to put a grinning smiley face after that, so no real harm meant.

Maybe I'm just really hungry but your hospital food looks damn good.
Also, zero was amused by your frozen hair picture.

Re: A Day in the Life of LilBee
I did this a few weeks ago but was too busy before my Europe trip to put it together. In conclusion to my Mission 101 goal of doing one of these for each season for one year, may I present: A Spring Saturday in the Life of LilBee.
Disclaimer: I don't have a particular Saturday routine, but this is pretty typical for the random form of last-minute entertainment I come up with for my weekends. A bit more adventurous than usual, perhaps, and not great for photo opportunities, but that's what I had going on and it is getting too close to summer for me to procrastinate much longer.
Friday evening, my cousin invited me to join her, her husband, his sister, and a couple of his friends for a Saturday of shooting and grilling.
Normally I sleep in however late I want on the weekend, but my cousin wanted me over to her place by 9:45 so I set an alarm just in case.
I ate a very nutritious breakfast.
I gathered the essentials for a day in the sun. Of course, I forgot to actually apply the sunscreen.
I walked over to my cousin's apartment and hopped in her husband's jeep (doors and top removed in honor of the great weather). We drove 15 miles or so out of town to their shooting spot.
Once the party was assembled, we set up our targets.
Not pictured: me being an absolutely terrible shot and ruining the grand finale of exploding applesauce.
We found some mud.
We drove to a park by the river.
Lunch was hot dogs, brats, chips, and potato salad.
After lunch, I went back home to clean up. You can't really see it, but there is a great deal of mud in my hair.
Once I showered and got myself cleaned up (and realized how sunburnt I was), I decided I deserved to rest. I snuggled up to some Angel.
And made myself a very classy dinner.
I may have watched more episodes of Angel and Buffy than I originally intended (I had to finish S4 and S7, respectively, before I left the country, after all). By the time I called it quits it was dark. I treated myself to some of the yummy brownies I had made earlier in the week and went to bed.
It was an anticlimatic end to rather adventurous day, but that's the way I like it.

Looks like ya had a great day! Nothing like a bit of shooting to keep sharp and enjoy the outdoors!
