Sending good thoughts to anyone in the northeast dealing with Sandy today.

I just found out that the shore house my family's been going to every summer since before I was born may not survive the storm. This saddens me more than I can say. Some of the best times of my life were spend at that house, all of them surrounded by family and good friends, and I would miss it immensely. Hoping for some good luck over the next day or so.

I don't know if this belongs in weather or "Now Playing", but I'm playing storm related music hoping to get some classes cancelled for tomorrow.

Hope your family's vacation spot survives!

Power is still on here and I hope it stays on. Because unless Starbucks loses power, I have to be at work tomorrow no matter the weather!

Good to hear you're okay!

Any other east coasters? How're we all doing, pweb?

I'm completely north of the hurricane, so nothing for me.

We've got some wind, there's snow just to the west and we've got snow possibilities tomorrow.

Nate's family made out well. No flooding at their house or the house they're remodeling.

Ed is in Jersey, so I'm hoping he's okay.

It's getting real chilly over here, but the city council hasn't turned on the central heating yet...

Our barbecue tipped over but that's the extent of our damage (first world problem). Power never went out and we're both heading to work. I guess we'll see if there are any roads closed due to flooding or trees down.

I can hear the wind howling here; gusts from 32-52 MPH are expected until late this evening.

I hope no one out here was much put out by the eastern storms. It's been damn wet here too, just got back from elk hunting this morning . I got totally sick of slogging through the mud ,even my quad got stuck and with chains on everything was well coated with mud!

I'm still here. A lot of downed trees and wires in this area. I saw a number of electrical transformers blow in the distance yesterday, looked like lightning. My power went early Monday and just came back about an 1 and a half ago. Most of the area still seems like it is out. The shore points in Jersey are all devastated, but thankfully all of my family and friends are accounted for.

It's gone from 70s and 80s temps here to snow in some surrounding towns. :/ a friend of my moms asked a girl in a grocery store if the rapture had happened bc NO ONE was out. I found it humorous but here in the bible belt jokes like that are found funny by few.

I hope that the storm victims are doing ok out there! Keeping you guys in our thoughts!!

It's been soggy for a couple days. I think we're getting the remnants of Sandy, because we've gotten more rain today than we did on Monday or Tuesday.

Not to side track too much, but that frustrates me, because it suggests that much of the Bible belt pays more attention to "Left Behind" than to the Bible. Which shouldn't surprise me, given the amount of hate-mail my dad got after that article was published.

That suggests that biblebelters are to the bible like sci-fi nerds are to science

It's just pouring super cold rain here. My feet are quite chilly. I'm going up to Idaho today, so I'm hoping it isn't snowing too badly there. My car isn't very winterized yet (ie I don't have an ice scraper for my windows).

ETA: SNOW! Big beautiful flakes of it!

I think my biggest fear with snow is not the cold -I've gotten pretty talented at layering lately- but my feet situation. I bought snow boots last year that were fine for a few days but then gave me a lower shin pain so awful I couldn't wear any shoes that had tongues for a few days because any pressure hurt really badly.

I walk at just brisk enough of a pace that I'm worried about slipping and hurting myself. There's a place at work where people have actually broken bones from slipping on ice that formed after snow started to melt and then re-freeze.

It was almost 70 for us yesterday and today the high will be in the low 30s. I did a real number scaring away the snow, though, as it neither snowed last night nor is it expected to snow this afternoon. It's just going to be windy and cold. Bitterly cold. Bah.

Your fault, hmm? Would've been nice if you kept the warm weather to yourself, and kept us New Englanders nice and chilly. :P

Yes, I agree... "lake effect" at it's best / worst.

One "advantage" here though is that it will go away within a few days... already only about 4" left, and then only in the "protected" areas.

This has been a strange fall in So Cal. While I don't expect frigid temperatures were still averaging 75+ highs with a high of 81 today. The mornings are pretty cool (by so cal standards, 50ish) but really we should be seeing overnight frost on the lawns and roofs by now. It's lightly showered a couple random days but no cold weather to report over here.

I'm wearing sandals and a skirt today, but I'm dying to pull out the boots and scarves.

I know I was/am scared of snow but after seeing a friend's pictures of Minneapolis snowfall over the past few days/weekend/whenever that was, I'm really jonesing for some good snowfall. Preferably for Christmas.

I've become obsessed with checking the 10 day forecast and am getting frustrated with all the "It will probably snow" and "It probably won't snow" back and forth.

Just snow! It's sure as heck cold enough.
