I don't know, if it gets any colder, we'll get our first snow in a decade.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).

We just had a lovely snowstorm. Then I had to wait in it for 40 minutes while my bus didn't show up. And I had to walk in the street because people in my neighborhood don't shovel their sidewlks, and the snow is ankle-deep. *sigh* Stupid snow.
Step one, take off your shirt. Step two ... Step three, PROFIT!

We had a snowstorm a couple days ago... 15 cm of snow. It's awesome. I love snow.
Don't so much love that it's gotten alot colder though. I like it when it's warm and snowy.
Today it's -23C (that's about -10F), feels like -32C (that's about -25F) with the wind.
The "feels like" kills me every time.

It's 0 degrees.
Funny, since I don't have the weather channel and didn't check the weather on my phone this morning, I wasn't feeling that cold. Especially considering I only had one glove on. However, I did notice the inside of my nose getting that frozen feeling. And my legs feeling like they needed to thaw when I stepped inside. It's bright & sunny out so it feels warmer.
Seriously, I've been taking the cold weather like a trooper thus far. The North Dakota mantra, "It could be worse. At least it's not negative 30" has actually been working for me this year.

Okay, we moved to New Mexico to get away from this stuff. My husband woke up this morning, and said, "Sara, what is all this foreign white substance on my car?" Yuck.
No school, which means they had to reschedule Will's IEP meeting again.

It's practically December, it shouldn't be 70 degrees out! (Although growing up about 400 miles north of here may give me a bit of a bias)
I'm so jealous of you guys who have snow, I probably won't get any this year.

The wind was so awful today. It was like an umbrella graveyard walking home.
Also, it bugs me when people just toss garbage on the side of the road.

It's a warm 43F here, with a projected high of 50 today and 26 low tonight YAY! I can walk to get the mail without freezing my toes off.
We're supposed to get snow end of the week/beginning of next. I think I'll have to brave the mountains to actually play in snow, though. The madre says none of the snow they've seen here actually sticks. It's only a couple thousand feet lower. Come on, man! Snow here, not just on the damn mountains!

Weather has been really screwy around here...it was record-breakingly warm for the majority of January...but for the past two weeks it has been below normal...and for like a week/week and a half we have had some form of snow fall...as in I would have to clean my car off in the morning...basically stupid snow...not enough to cancel school or get out of work or to even go play in...but just enough to make roads slick and driving a mess...I love snow...but I loathe stupid snow...
More snow in SE Kansas, maybe 4" yesterday, on top of the remainder of the ice from the big ice storm, (we had a little snow in between, but that melted rather quickly in the newness and flakiness of it, in a couple of days above freezing, while the ice took longer, and wasn't yet gone). More snow predicted over the next couple of days, and no temps above freezing for at least a week.
It's pretty. That's all I can say for it. And in the in-between snow, heavy and wet and sticky, formed on a day above freezing, the fellow across the highway built a huge snowman, classical shape. It's headless now, but otherwise still there, the last of _that_ snow that didn't melt, since it wasn't in a flat layer.
The Headless Snowman--wonder if there's a story in there somewhere?
I'm not sure that absolutely everybody even has their power back on yet. The last I heard, people were in the mop-up phase, but the last houses were all ones with serious additional problems. A couple of the houses that got power restored burst into flames within minutes: I haven't heard anyone theorize why, except the obvious of something to do with the electricity. One of them was the Fire Chief's home.

It's blowing snow which is annoying. It's not supposed to get above 5 F (-15 C) today, and colder as the week progresses.
In Anchorage, AK it's supposed to be in the 30s (F) this week (slightly above 0 C).
This pisses me off.

Yeah, well...I hate you all. We have had a grand total of less than 4 inches all winter and the average snowfall at this point in the year here is 36 inches. Grrr. I want a blizzard!!

Yes, we Alaskans are in the midst of a warm spell. It is currently in the 40s. Unfortunately, I don't know many who are happy about this. We didn't get enough snow this year, and now it is going away. Presently, it is in the exceptionally-slick ice stage (I have bruises to prove it).In Anchorage, AK it's supposed to be in the 30s (F) this week (slightly above 0 C).
I used to hate gravity because it would not let me fly. Now I realize it is gravity that lets me stand.
