Oh my, then I take it back. That region is a veritable hotbed of awesomeness. Brag on, Northerners, brag on.

Aside from the weather, we - um, they - mostly like to brag about how there's absolutely nothing to do (besides drink).

We got 7+ inches of rain in about 12 hours last night. Every major road away from my house has been closed all day because it is flooded. I could still get out but it took an extra 15-20 minutes to get anywhere on back roads. There is a state of emergency for my town and a couple others nearby. Crazy!

And the falls that are usually very unimpressive that I had to take the bridge over to get home today (there were like 40 cars pulled over taking pictures of them):

We've actually been breaking records here! Actually got over 100 degrees (I can't remember the exact number, maybe 104?)

I know pwebbers who deal with that more often then not, but it's crazy for us!

It's been either humid or storming every day for a week. Power went out three times. Third time it set off the old security panel that was here when we moved in, 16 years ago, and has never worked until yesterday.

My walk home was very nice today; it was a breezy, cool 97. :) I think we'll be back to double digits for the rest of the year in the next few weeks.

Colorado is awesome. Today it will be pleasantly in the 70's, perfect weather for opening windows, going on a walk, and playing at the park. Tomorrow, it's going to snow. I love my state's weather!

All you guys have is rain? Thats it? It has snowed five centimetres since thursday morning and its 263 Kelvin. (I dont measure temps in degrees F or C) This is in a semi-arid geographic area that usually doesn't receive snow until November and doesn't usually get cold until late October. I fell on the sidewalk last night because we had freezing rain turning into snow and apparently no one knows how to deal with ice in October.

SoCal has seasons, but only at night. if you're out in the wee AM hours it's very easy to distinguish spring summer fall and winter, or as they're better known in so Cal, sometimes damp, warm and dry, cool with occasional moisture, and sometimes we wear long sleeved shirts.

It's getting chilly. Today, the high is supposed to be 87 and tomorrow the high is supposed to be 67! 20 degree drop in a day.

It was 58 when I went to the gym this morning, which prompted me to go turtle and draw my arms into my shirt for warmth.

All of this excites me; it means I'll get to drink Chai soon.

It's been pretty chilly this past week, around the high 40s. It's really bright and sunny out right now, but freezing.

It was a really long fall and now winter is upon us rather suddenly.

I know. I know. I miss my bragging rights at times. I'm trying hard as hell to hang onto northeastern North Dakota as my reference for normal weather so I can continue to enjoy these mild winters.

They were saying on the news tonight that we were going to have "dangerously cold" windchills of -10 (F). D and I laughed hard.

May I say, however, that the ice and wind here are perfectly comparable and in some ways worse? Would that make you feel better?

Death COLD. It's too cold to live. I am so glad we are moving away from this frozen city soon.
Extreme wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 45 are expected tonight and Tuesday morning. This is a warning that extreme wind chill conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.
Frigid Arctic air will give temperatures falling below minus 30 tonight. This combined with westerly winds of 15 to 20 km/h will produce widespread extreme wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 45 tonight and Tuesday morning. Wind chill values will moderate during the day today and be generally minus 30 to minus 40 but extreme values of less than -40 are likely from time to time today as winds briefly increase to 20 km/h at a few locations across Southern Manitoba. Milder temperatures are expected to return to Southern Manitoba starting mid week as this Arctic airmass slides to the east. At these extreme wind chill values fros
tbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes.

Have I not mentioned it? Paul is applying for PhD programs, so when he starts that we'll be living somewhere that's else.

The cities we may end up in are: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, St. John's Newfoundland, Rochester NY, Durham NC or Florida (whatever city University of Florida is in, I can't recall).
Wherever gives him the most funding for his PhD!
