Yet another beautiful day today in the 70's, people are doing yardwork in their shorts and T-shirts. Everything is incredibly springish and green. All the streams are full with snow runoff. It's really pretty.

It rained all day today. Warm, light rain.

I kinda liked it.

Funny how we can go from the least snowfall in decades (December) to the coldest february in 40 years to finally having warmth as soon as it turns to March eh?
Thank God for March

I'm still bitter that everything isn't in bloom yet. It's at least a month late to start bursting into colour.

Gah, 85 degrees today. I think we found that global warming.

It was sprinkling all day and winds were really going but then at 5:30 or so it started raining. I was expecting lots of rain. There was a storm sitting over the mountains, snowing over there all day, but I only expected it'd rain and here, since it's only 4,750ft. But, nope. Snow. Off and on since about.... 7pm. I got to drive in the rain and was happy enough about that but... snow. Oy. SNOW. At the end of March. What kind of insanity is this?? My plants have started growing! I packed my winter clothes! There's not supposed to be snow at the end of March. It's SPRING!

Though, I must admit that I love when the snowflakes seem to just stay suspended in the air.... it's beautiful. Or when it goes from being blown about by the wind to slowly drifting down... *sigh* I love snow. I'm quite happy to be seeing that the days will soon be in the mid-70's, though.

It's really funny... I'm watching the snow through my window and it looks like it's dancing around instead of falling.... I may have packed my winter clothes a bit early... Oops. Where's a nice warm jacket when ya need it...

bump

What the chicken strips is going on with the weather this year?

First, we have close to a record breaking winter (in which many of the city's trees died from being unable to withstand the drop in temp. and that just shouldn't happen around here) early in the year and now it's two days from November and we have 97F...one off from the record high set in 1952.

I want to be able to at least pretend I'm cold before the year is out.

Wow. We had what was probably the longest fall I've seen in five years of living here. However, when the weather ultimately chose to turn to winter, it did so with a firmness and decision that took my breath away. The weather didn't just decide to go to from 40s to 20s -- it went from 40s to negative 10 overnight. This is actually a good thing, because so far nothing has melted and then refrozen, and THAT is what turns winter driving into hell frozen over.

It is SNOWING like crazy outside. It snowed a little last week, but nothing to worry about. This, however, is really snow. It's deep and white and my feet are frozen from walking in it. Driving in rural Minnesota over the next few weeks should be fun.

I need snowboots. And a winter survival kit. I should put this in the confessions, but, um, I've never actually packed one before. Despite everyone's warnings. However, I have most everything now, other than a coffee can and food.

It's been snowing for at least eleven hours, now. It's very possible it has been snowing longer, but eleven hours ago is when I woke up, and it hasn't stopped yet.

No. Actually, you should have two coffee cans. One in which to melt snow to drink (with your candles that I still have to buy) and one to use as a toilet.

However, re: the melting snow thing -- where the do you buy metal coffee cans these days?

Oh, just FYI, if you're thirsty, don't eat still-frozen snow as it speeds up dehydration because of the heat energy you exert to melt the snow.

I've defiantly seen them in groceries stores here. So, if you can't find them in GF, come up to Winnipeg and visit me while you're at it! :)

Hah. I saw that on the Grand Forks channel this afternoon. We're only getting 5 inches, the storm's going south.

Damn the winter here.

About 12 cm of rain poured 2 days ago, and made me sick today, one day before a big scouting trip. And it's still cold.

I usually love the winter, but now...Dammit.

I hate all of you who have snow. It's winter! It shouldn't be in the 60's... and tomorrow, it's meant to get up to 77! We're not even that far south. Oh well, another week or so, then I go home to Philly, where the weather behaves itself, and acts like it's supposed to.

We were just hit with one of the worst ice storms in recent history. And yet, despite the hundreds of accidents over the course of two days, the store was brimming with people. "Oh, power lines are lying across the roads? The ice is an inch thick? Hey, let's go shopping."

I hate people.

The day it really started snowing here (a few days ago), I was so incredibly happy. It started coming down harder when I was outside, and I nearly just started twirling, bouncing, and frolicking around. When I finally got inside, there was barely anything on the ground. When I came back out an hour later, there was a thin pristine layer over everything. It was awesome.

Now there's just ice over everything. It makes walking on the sidewalk... interesting, in a few places.

At least you guys have snow. Here, it's almost NEVER snowing- only in random years, plus after years with wars (it's pretty much an axiom: war=afterwar snow). And even when there is snow, it's only on for a maximum of 1 day (+ night), and we can't play, build snowmen or whatever...

As long as the snow can contain itself to the East for TODAY (while I drive in the NW) that'd be just dandy. Otherwise...
