This is a bump to encourage EL and Rei to post pics of their new, cute living quarters (that I saw on facebook). I also have a question...do you have your own bathroom that I couldn't see in the pics or is it a shared bathroom?

The house has several shared bathrooms and shared kitchens. We use the smaller kitchen upstairs as it is closer and feels nicer (at least to me). We also use the shower upstairs as that one actually has something vaguely resembling water pressure. In our room we just have the two sinks and the counter space.

Hee, we stole the grey mug from the common kitchen, I'm glad you like it, Alea!
Steph, just wait till we move out of the student house. When we get a place of our own, there'll be room!

Nah, just someone else who lives in the house.
I'm actually a little bit disappointed in myself that I didn't tidy up a bit before taking those pics. I really want to keep our space tidy, and usually it's better than that. Darn.

Sparkly Jesus COIN BANK! My friend Beth got him and Magenta Sparkly Mary somewhere.
And yeah, all the bedrooms in the house have sinks. It's kind of nice for cutting down on the communal tooth-brushing.

Well, to satisfy any more curiosity, here are some more pics of our place.
The door to our room, with Hermes Trismegistus on the door. He's been on 6 or 7 of our doors by now, and along with Sparkly Jesus, is sort of our mascot.
My tea set, now with matching creamer and sugar bowl! Note the can of A&W imported from Brunei (the only place you can get root beer here is the Chinese supermarket).
The breadmaker, currently baking us a loaf.
The stairwell.
The kitchen upstairs.
The bathroom.
The view from the kitchen window.

Dear lord, what do the British have against root beer?
In fact, what do most people have against root beer? It has got to be the most polarizing soda, or just behind Mountain Dew, I've ever heard of, which makes me sad, as it and Sprite/Sierra Mist are the only sodas I drink when I go out to eat.

See, I highly dislike wintergreen which, to me, is the same flavor as most root beers (especially cheap, generic, root beers). The only root beer that I really like is Barq's because it is the least wintergreen-y of them all. However, it's also the only root beer with caffeine, which I try to avoid.

I love Root Beer, especially A&W. I would be sad not to have it.Dear lord, what do the British have against root beer?

It makes us sad, too, hence the trip to the Chinese grocery. It's not that they have anything against it, they just don't care about it. They have shandy and dandelion & burdock, and those seem to fill the niche.I love Root Beer, especially A&W. I would be sad not to have it.Dear lord, what do the British have against root beer?

The best root beer I found was when we had pizza at Apizza Scholls. It's called Buckin' Rootbeer made by Jackson Hole Soda. I luckily found it locally at Top Foods.
I haven't been to an A&W in years, but from what my dad tells me the stuff you get in the restaurant is different from what you get in stores.

I LOVE root beer!! Out of the can, I generally prefer Mug to A&W, but A&W on tap at the restaurants in superior. Out of a bottle, I like IBC. I sent my cousin a 24 case of IBC for his birthday when we was on his mission in England. Yeah, I was the favorite!
Root beer floats are amazing. I love the little pockets of frozen root beer that you get to crunch. The creamy mixed with the root beer.....ahh. When I was in elementary school, along with the chocolate and strawberry milk that we could get on fridays, they also had root beer milk. I think I was the only one that liked it, but man, I loved it!
Nomi, I feel like barqs in the MOST wintergreeny! It's kind of funny that we're so opposite on that!

That IS weird. I can tell how wintergreen-y it is by the smell of the fizz when you first open the bottle, more so than the actual taste. To me, Barq's smells more sweet/sugary than wintergreen-y.

we have a sandwich shop here that's got authentic philly cheesesteaks... yeah, i know i'm in wisconsin, but the dude is from philly and brought the recipes with him. anyway, they're fantastic. but he's got sioux city sodas and that's where i tried the birch beer first. i don't know which i like more, the soda or the sandwiches.

I hate everything about root beer. I can't even stand the smell. I think it's the only pop I actually don't drink.

Please, Fred, tell me how you really feel. *adds to Meg Ryan list* I feel like I'm always forgetting all of these differences, besides Meg.I hate everything about root beer. I can't even stand the smell. I think it's the only soda I actually don't drink.

My all-time favorite root beer: Dog 'n Suds, which is extremely hard to find (unless you happen to be incredibly close to one of the dozen or so locations still sporadically left in the Midwest). In fact, it's been so many years since I've actually had it that I'm not even sure they bottle it, anymore.
I like most root beer, though.

It doesn't *taste* minty to me but it smells like wintergreen. But I'm kind of a freak when it comes to smell. I think skunk smells like concentrated lemon juice (those little fake plastic lemons filled with juice).
