Quick question about a book series...

Postby Big Mikey » Mon Oct 06, 2008 6:31 pm

I would have posted this in the book discussion forum, but it seemed like that was for discussing books that you have read. I just have a quick question. A couple of years ago I read a book about citizens living on Mars in the future. I remember the characters using their "Mars" ages. (Ex. 11 or 12 instead of 22 or 24 i.e. using mars' orbit instead of the earth's to determine age). I also remember Earth thinking that Mars was a threat so they attacked it. Also I believe the protagonist was female. I was just wondering if anyone knew what novel this is as I'd like to read it again but the name and author escapes me. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you

So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

That sounds exactly like the "Mars Trilogy" by Kim Stanley Robinson. It could also be a book called "The Martians" by KSR. It's a spin-off book of the Mars Trilogy. I read it once and it wasn't very good. I probably wouldn't read it again.
